Chapter Three: The Scales Tip

During the early days after the invasion of Azeroth, Samaara had approached Azgadaan in his manor seeking to reclaim the ata'mal crystal, Spirit's Song, from his person. In reality, the request was a test for the young eredar, as if he refused to give it back to those that it truly belonged to, he would be deemed unworthy to continue protecting it. However, much to her surprise, Azgadaan gave it over willingly after asking her a simple question to prove her identity.

Satisfied that the young princeling was worthy, she returned the crystal to him. In the weeks that followed, she offered to start teaching Azgadaan draenic, the language of her people, and the language that he so wished to learn.

However, much to her surprise, there eventually came a meeting with the young eredar that did not involve draenic, but rather, the subject of relationships. It became clear very quickly that Azgadaan had slept with the eredar Aracyra, and he was now struggling with understanding the repercussions of such a thing. Not knowing where else to go, he had turned to Samaara.

Samaara attempted to explain as best she could, though reiterated that it had been a long time since the eredar and draenei were one people, thus certain things may have changed drastically over the millenia. She also emphasized that Aracyra was a dangerous individual to consort with, as ultimately, she was not their ally, though did note that Azgadaan seemed like he genuinely cared for her. Samaara reminded Azgadaan that he was nourishing his own light inside him, and eventually, he was going to be faced with a choice: either to leave this pursuit behind, or reveal to Aracyra a light that she would be unable to accept unless Azgadaan was able to get her to see what he had seen. The only option otherwise was that it would be a tragedy much like the one that had befallen Jaraxxus and Azgadaan's mother, Erraa.

Azgadaan thanked Samaara profusely before they parted ways.
