Sayaad
Sayaad are a species of shapeshifting, energy vampiric, demon that are native to the Twisting Nether. They are often known as either succubus, incubus, and concubus which are their female, male, non-gendered forms respectively.
Description
All sayaad are effectively genderless but most choose to identify as female, with incubi and concubi being in the minority.
The natural form of the sayaad is a hooved humanoid that is covered in scales and spikes. They have horns on the top of their head that can come in any variety of shapes. They also have small wings that allow them to glide. Powerful sayaad's wings can grow to be capable of flight.
Sayaad feast upon the energy of living creatures, and tend to prey upon the weak willed.

Covens
The sayaad are organized into covens run by Succubus Queens. These covens are essentially trade guilds where a sayaad can find work that best fits their abilities. Some sayaad chose not to join a coven, but doing so offers safety.
The sayaad are lead by Laylia, the Queen of Queens, and her council of Eight Queens. Each of these Queens are a direct daughter of Laylia, and lead a coven that handles the internal matters of the sayaad people.
- Coven of Vanity, lead by Queen Vanagloria: Domestic affairs and general administration
- Coven of Wrath, lead by Queen Ira: Military forces and coordination with the Burning Crusade
- Coven of Lust, lead by Queen Luxuria: Diplomacy, external relations, and tourism
- Coven of Greed, lead by Queen Avaritia: Treasury, resource acquisition and management
- Coven of Despair, lead by Queen Tristitia: Judicial affairs, dispute handling, law enforcement, and punishment
- Coven of Sloth, lead by Queen Acedia: Bureaucracy and general record keeping across covens
- Coven of Gluttony, lead by Queen Gula: Research and development
- Coven of Envy, lead by Queen Invidia: Secret ops and internal security
Every sayaad coven in existence answers back to one of the eight.
- Coven of Pain and Coven of Suffering are the largest, have multiple queens, and work under the Coven of Wrath
- Coven of Bones is also under Wrath
- Coven of Whispers is under Envy
- Coven of Obsession, previously lead by Queen Sagrada, is under Greed
- Coven of Seduction, Temptation, and Pleasure are also large covens under Lust
Lore
The method of birthing a new sayaad is a secret that not even most sayaad are aware of. When a sayaad collects an abundance of energy, she can return to their homeworld and create a doll out of the volcanic clay. She then breathes the energy into this doll, and it becomes a newborn sayaad. All sayaad are born as adults, inheriting some knowledge from their 'mother' in the transference of energy.
Exceptionally powerful sayaad, mostly Succubus Queens, can start to develop crystalline forms. Their spikes and scales turn crystalline, and their wings appear as though they are made from stained glass. Most people observe this phenomena as Succubus Queens choosing to alter their form in this way as a display of status and power as a queen. Most wouldn't dare to replicate their appearance, as that would lead to unwanted attention. There are also some sayaad who choose to hide these mutations to avoid this attention.
It is said that Invidia and her Coven of Envy weren't born until after Queen Laylia and the sayaad joined the Burning Legion. Before Invidia was Queen Suberbia, who lead the Coven of Pride. When Sargeras sought to bring Laylia to heel, Suberbia resisted, claiming that the sayaad would bow to no one. She was completely obliterated for this defiance, showing Laylia and her daughters the pointlessness of fighting. They joined Sargeras without further protest. Moving forward, Superbia's death and the disbanding of her Coven was considered the day the sayaad lost their pride. In her place Laylia birthed a new daughter that would fulfill a new role, as the Coven of Envy would serve to make her children understand their new place.
