Scholomance
The Scholomance is a secret academy and safe haven for practitioners of the dark arts located in the catacombs beneath the fortress of Caer Darrow.
Background
Scholomance was founded by archmage Kel'Thuzad to serve as a safe site for research into the dark arts, specifically necromancy. After his aid in preserving the soul of Jandice Barov, the young woman offered her family's holdings as a base for the idea, as Caer Darrow was largely believed to be cursed given the misfortune that hung around it. After it's creation, Kel'Thuzad steadily reached out to those he trusted, as well as accomplished practitioners of dark magic, to serve as instructors to guide younger students in continued research.
Eventually, Kel'Thuzad stepped down as headmaster of Scholomance, and passed the title on to his old friend, Ross Reòthadh, and instead took a new title of chairman for himself.

Hall of Secrets
Located deep within Scholomance, the Hall of Secrets is the school's self-contained library and is presided over by Lorekeeper Dorothy Polkelt. It possesses a great deal of forbidden knowledge and research done by the denizens of Scholomance, as well as other resources that may aid in the pursuit of such findings.
