Prologue: January 7th - July 1st

As the war against the Alliance begins and the sieges of Stratholme and Fort Crossing begin in earnest, and the raiders of the Warsong burn swathes of destruction across the countryside, it becomes evident there is another force at play--one independent of the elves or humans. The Amani trolls, an indigenous force and former empire of Zul’Aman, who once controlled an empire that dominated most of the northern section of Lordaeron. It had been on the rise in the waning of the elven power after the invasion of the Horde. The orcish borders had started to clash with trolls, and it became evident that something had to be done: destroying them, or forging an alliance.

Elder Gul’dan was put on this task, and he recruited Arthak Saurfang to pursue this goal.

As Arthak focused on rebuilding and consolidating power, he took time from his efforts to speak with the felblood elves and acquire tutelage in the tongue of the trolls, as well as some history of the feud between the elves and the trolls.

End of January

Halno was working on switching his specialization as he had been looking at ways to reach out to Sylvos further. After some time, he was able to get to the point where he can truly experiment with connecting his apexis crystal and the backup scepter he had. It sort of works, but Halno gets the sense that it would work better if he tried it with his own scepter.

Thus, he tries.

By drawing runic circles of chalk, ink, and blood, Halno prepares, and then sends Sagaz to fetch Nyxx and Levia to kill Halno if he’s not himself.

Nyxxa says: So. He’s giving us an opportunity?

Sagaz stops, and Levia snort laughs, but they go to watch the door that Halno had locked after Sagaz left.

Meanwhile, inside, the runic circle starts to glow. The scepter starts to vibrate, and the apexis crystal starts to shake violently, and then suddenly, it shatters. Shadowy lightning shoots from the scepter, and it blasts into a cloud of arcane dust before striking Halno in the chest.

Everything fades, and Halno hears a noise as the scepter hits the ground. However, floating in the air where the apexis crystal was a translucent, pseudo-spectral face with long, blonde-silver white hair. Halno immediately recognizes the face as Sylvos’s.

Sylvos Windrunner says: What? What is this? What’s going on?
Halno says: Oh. So you can talk…

Halno is looking between him and the apexis crystal.

Halno says: How cognizant are you?
Sylvos Windrunner says: You. You’re…
Halno says: Right. Sorry. Introductions. I’m Halno. I’m using your body.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I see.
Halno says: And up until recently, you were sharing a soul with me. And now you’re free… and you’re kind of dead. But also kind of not.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I assumed as much when I witnessed myself not… however long ago it was. I suppose whatever you have done with this ritual has freed me from… you? Huh…
Halno says: That is hopefully what has happened. Although I doubt you’re free of me, you’re free of being trapped in me. That being said. Just so I’m clear on what I’m working with. What’s the last thing you recall?
Sylvos Windrunner says: I remember being slain. I remember coming to in my body and having no idea what was going on, but things are… clear. I also remember things that never happened to me. I trust these are perhaps memories you made while you were using my remains.
Halno says: Huh.
Sylvos Windrunner says: This is odd. I feel like this is a situation where most people would have a visceral and extremely emotional reaction, but that does not seem to be the case.
Halno says: Yeah I expected far more screaming and yelling.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Yet I have no desire to do so.
Halno says: I wonder if that’s some feedback from the necromantic corruption.
Sylvos Windrunner says: That too should be concerning.
Halno says: Perhaps ghosts don’t have emotion?
Sylvos Windrunner says: I don’t know. I don’t even know if I’m a ghost. Not fully.

He starts to float around the room.

Sylvos Windrunner says: I recall this place, but I am not truly free, as you suspected. Allow me a moment.

He tries to pass through a wall, but thumps into it instead.

Sylvos Windrunner says: Hm. It appears there is a limit of how far I can go from you. While you freed my spirit, I believe I am still bound to you or that object you carry.
Halno says: Oh. I hope it’s not the scepter.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I’m not certain. There are tests we can run… but I am taking this far too well. I’m dead. I have been killed.

His eyes widened.

Sylvos Windrunner says: Silansalia and Sadine… they were in your custody. Did they escape? Are they safe?

Halno is unsure and calls for Nyxxa.

Sylvos Windrunner says: I don’t think whoever you’re talking to can hear you. Nyxxa. I know Nyxxa. She’s a satyr.
Halno says: Yes. She also would have the answer you’re looking for.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Excellent. Then I want to speak with her.

Halno opens the door and Levia looks from Halno to the head.

Levia Blackflight says: Does… this count?
Nyxxa says: What… what did you...
Halno says: I found Sylvos!
Nyxxa says: Well, he’s a head. Is he…? Can he… talk?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Yes, I am fully capable of communicating.

Nyxxa jumps back.

Nyxxa says: Sorry. Then, hello, sorry about everything.
Sylvos Windrunner says: It’s surprisingly fine.
Halno says: I think I killed his emotions.
Sylvos Windrunner says: That is a potential hypothesis.
Nyxxa says: Well, if you need to… talk things out...?
Halno says: Hey, do you remember what happened to…?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Silansalia and Sadine.
Halno says: Yes! Those. Hold that thought. We should go back inside.

They head back inside.

Nyxxa says: They escaped and I believe they made it safely to the elves, but I don’t know what happened since.
Sylvos Windrunner says: That is a relief. I realize the way I am speaking may not sound like it, but I am thankful you told me, I can only hope the rest of my family is safe as well.

Nyxxa looks at Levia.

Nyxxa says: Well. Uh… One of… you are the brother of Vereesa and Alleria, right?
Sylvos Windrunner says: That is correct.
Nyxxa says: One was grievously injured during the Sunwell. I don’t know what’s happened to them.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I… see. I thank you for telling me. I can only hope the Light has taken mercy on them and they have survived.
Nyxxa says: Uh. About that…
Halno says: Hey buddy, I don’t think we have good news for you.
Sylvos Windrunner says: A most unfortunate circumstance.
Nyxxa says: Uh… have you told him anything about Frostmourne?
Halno says: I didn’t have to.
Sylvos Windrunner says: It seems his memories he created while inhabiting my remains, are memories I can recall.
Nyxxa says: Well. A lot of things are unknown right now.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I see. Well, making baseless hypothesis would just cause me to panic, and this is not the time to panic.
Halno says: Can you even panic?
Sylvos Windrunner says: I don’t know.

Halno scribbles on a piece of paper.

Nyxxa says: Well, if I hear anything, I’ll let you know. I don’t want this to travel far… but, if you know what he knew, you know these are things I shouldn’t know, and people might ask questions.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Worry not. I seem physically incapable of traveling far from Halno. So that information can not travel far. Wait. You were using figurative language.
Nyxxa says: Um. Yeah.
Halno says: Huh.
Nyxxa says: Is there anything you want to do? What do you feel right now? Like aside from knowing how your loved ones are, that is?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Hm. An apt question. Thank you for asking it. At present I am not certain what precisely what I feel or want, but at present it seems my fate is bound to Halno’s, so right now our best plan is to work together, and perhaps learn the fates of my family so I can help them survive. But for the time being, I’m not certain. Maybe learning more about me and this strange existence.
Halno says: I just realized something.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Yes?
Halno says: You destroyed my spellbook.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Apologies. Well, I have your memories, so I may be able to help.
Halno says: Hm. I like you.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Thank you. I believe you are one who I can come to working favorably with. But, I have much to think on. If you’ll excuse me, you can call upon me when I’m needed.
Halno says: Yeah. Sure. I guess. I don’t know what I’m doing.

Sylvos’s essence swoops down into a quill on the desk, and disappears.

Halno says: Well, Nyxxa. I have no idea what happened. That wasn’t supposed to happen. And Sylvos is… out.
Nyxxa says: Ah. Is that how magic is supposed to work?
Levia Blackflight says: Beats me. This is beyond anything I’ve ever seen.

Levia pats Nyxxa’s shoulder.

Levia Blackflight says: Sometimes best not to think about it.
Halno says: I don’t think this was necromancy, at least?
Nyxxa says: Th-thanks? I think I need to take a walk. But…

Levia tries to sense undead but doesn’t pick up any other undead presences but Halno.

Nyxxa says: Right. Well, thanks Halno, for trusting me, and I guess… if I find out anything for him, I’ll let you guys… know…
Halno says: I thought you would be used to this by now. How long have you known me?
Nyxxa says: Um. Uh…
Halno says: Nyxxa. It’s fine.

Later on, Halno goes to seek out Arthak. He finds him with Azgadaan.

Halno says: Arthak, you busy right now?
Arthak Saurfang says: Um. Not at the moment. Why?
Halno says: Perfect. You’re gonna love this.

Arthak grunts, and there is a shitty grin on Halno’s face.

Halno says: Alright, so, remember how I was trying to see if I could talk to Sylvos?
Arthak Saurfang says: Yes.
Halno says: Well.

Halno does ta-da fingers, and Sylvos’s head manifests.

Halno says: Sylvos, how does this orc make you feel?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Greetings. Arthak and Azgadaan, correct?
Arthak Saurfang says: Ahhh. Sylvos.
Azgadaan says: Hello!
Sylvos Windrunner says: It’s good to make your acquaintance.
Arthak Saurfang says: If it’s any consolation, it was nothing personal. And the two women with you were safe.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Yes, Nyxxa said. I’m not sure how I can speak in your language, but it would seem I can. And for what it’s worth, I don’t hold my death against you, so no hard feelings, as the saying goes.
Arthak Saurfang says: Refreshing. To be fair, you probably would have killed me too.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Most likely, yes.
Arthak Saurfang says: Which would have also been no hard feelings.
Sylvos Windrunner says: In fact, in my last efforts, I did signal my wife to bomb this entire region. I’m impressed at the rebuilding.
Halno says: Wait. So you killed me?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Well, technically it was the magisters aboard my wife’s vessel, but I gave her the signal.
Arthak Saurfang says: It was a smart plan.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Thank you.
Halno says: I was going to see if this got a rise out of him, but no, his emotions are dead.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I don’t think my emotions are dead. I can still feel. I have a wife. I love her. Hm. More experimentation needed. However, I would ask, Arthak, that you attempt not to murder any other members of my family.
Halno says: Only your family?
Sylvos Windrunner says: I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear with my request.
Arthak Saurfang says: I understand. In regards to any other members of the Windrunner clan, I will do my best, but given our present dynamic, they will likely not give me many chances should we encounter each other.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Well, if that were to happen, I would be happy to negotiate a cease fire.
Halno says: The fact you don’t realize how traumatizing that is is troubling.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Ah. Yes.
Arthak Saurfang says: I mean no offence… you said love your wife. Do you experience this as factual information, or do you feel that love for her?
Sylvos Windrunner says: That is a psychologically intriguing question, Arthak, but I believe it is the former. It’s strange. I know in life, I loved her.
Halno says: Hm. Interesting.
Arthak Saurfang says: You were asking the wrong questions.
Halno says: I thought he was a soul, but he may be a construct.
Arthak Saurfang says: Or you don’t know what a soul is.

Azgadaan is watching the situation, also intrigued.

Azgadaan says: Hm. I think you just brought back his mind, not his soul.
Sylvos Windrunner says: An interesting hypothesis. One we can experiment with, I believe.
Azgadaan says: I didn’t think I would get this chance, but I may have taken your home, renovated, then sold it. So apologies.
Sylvos Windrunner says: To be honest, I find myself to believe I should be surprised it stands at all. So, once again, no hard feelings.
Azgadaan says: Hm. I’m tempted to knock it down with the pricks inside.
Halno says: We could deal with the pricks.
Arthak Saurfang says: They are allies.
Halno says: We aren’t killing them.
Arthak Saurfang says: Dropping a building on them kills people, Halno.
Sylvos Windrunner says: That said, there are many things in the manor that could be useful. Halno, you investigated the manor previously. Between the two of us, we may be able to repair my observatory provided these hooligans have not destroyed it beyond repair.
Halno says: So, hey Arthak, can we evict them?
Arthak Saurfang says: Azgadaan, how did you sell it, and who do they work for?

Azgadaan recounts the tale.

Halno says: Technically, doesn’t Sylvos have legal claim?
Arthak Saurfang says: He’s dead.
Halno says: I’m here.
Arthak Saurfang says: You’re also dead. Azgadaan, you took it by right of conquest, but then you gave it to them. We could evict them, but that sets a bad precedent.
Halno says: I guess we could try Nyxxa’s way.

Halno makes a retching face.

Azgadaan says: We could always demand them sell it back to us.
Arthak Saurfang says: We could demand, but if they say no, what is your plan?
Halno says: We could make them think it’s haunted by sending Sylvos in?
Arthak Saurfang says: Entertaining as that is, I don’t think that will achieve anything other than humor.

Nyxxa walks by at this point with Levia.

Nyxxa says: ...What are you all talking about?
Halno says: We’re talking about how to scare, haunt, or kill the people in Sylvos’s old house.
Nyxxa says: You could just… ask them to look? Look, I’ve been working with the Shadowsword, do you want me to ask?
Arthak Saurfang says: I can go as well.

Azgadaan shoots a sending to Aracyra to ask if she has any idea, and Aracyra is curious as to why he wants it back.

Azgadaan says [sending]: We have a ghost thingy over here and it may be intriguing to get it back.
Aracyra says [sending]: A ghost thingy? I suppose you can take it. Getting revenge on people who are allied with you is risky, but you could just… force them?

Azgadaan is musing on this.

Nyxxa says: Wait, I have an idea.
Halno says: You’re not going to do that nice thing, are you?
Nyxxa says: Well, yes, but given the place they were working in got exploded, is there really any reason for them to stay? I could help them relocate and scope out a place in what’s left of Silvermoon.
Halno says: Um. Yeah. Sure. I’m not opposed.
Sylvos Windrunner says: Diplomacy!
Nyxxa says: Thank you, Sylvos.

Nyxxa is looking a bit better now that she has rationalized Sylvos is maybe just a wisp.

The group heads to Sylvos’s manor, and Nyxxa opts to take point. She goes and knocks on the door. The door opens, and it’s Solion--the same felblood elf Azgadaan had dealt with before.

Solion says [Common]: Can I help you?
Nyxxa says [Common]: Good afternoon! As representatives of Gramgun’kur, we were checking in. Given the recent events, we were wondering if you would like assistance in relocating to the mainland? It’s not going to remain the hub it was for the foreseeable future.
Solion says [Common]: I see.

Solion glances to the group behind Nyxxa, his eyes settling on Arthak.

Solion says [Common]: He’s the guy in charge of what the orcs have turned Sun’s Reach into, yes?

Nyxxa translates, and Arthak confirms.

Solion says [Common]: So, let me guess, you guys want the land back.

Nyxxa continues translating for Arthak.

Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: Did you fortify?
Solion says [Common]: We’ve fortified enough.
Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: So, if there is further elven aggression, you will be able to defend yourselves even against the Kul Tiran blockade? We want to make sure every piece of territory on this island is ready for the next incursion. Every hand needs to be ready.

Solion is sensing that he’s being backed into a corner.

Solion says [Common]: I mean, we’ve fortified this place enough most likely. But.. I suppose you’re right. There’s less reason to be here than there was. It may be worth staking claim somewhere else. What’s it worth to you? We’ve done a lot of building to fix it up.
Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: You want us to pay you for this territory you’re giving up due to a renewed threat from the elves?
Solion says [Common]: We are living here right now.
Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: So if you fortified sufficiently, you’d be willing to stay then?
Nyxxa says [Common]: And I can help you find a new place on the mainland!

Solion flickers back and forth between Nyxx and Arthak.

Solion says [Common]: Alright, that should be good enough. Help us find somewhere good, and you can have your glorified lighthouse back, how does that sound?
Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: If they aren’t willing to defend, then we will. That’s fine.
Solion says [Common]: By the way, you might want to tell your friend here…

He looks at Arthak.

Solion says [Common]: That you may not want to let tall dark and handsome inside. Last time he did a number on the upholstery.

He moves his eyes to Azgadaan.

Solion says [Common]: Give us a few days, and we can get packed up.

Nyxxa nods.

Nyxxa says [Common]: We’ll get out of your hair, and we’ll keep in touch.

Nyxxa hadn't translated the insult, but Arthak was able to put enough together from who the felblood elf had glanced at and his tone.

Arthak Saurfang says [Orcish]: Would you please inform our friend that insults against prince Azgadaan are not wise at this time?

Nyxxa translates to Solion, and he smirks and mutters something in Thalassian.

Azgadaan says [Common]: Do you have something to say?
Solion says [Common]: Nothing important.

He turns away.

Solion says [Common]: Alright guys, everyone in, we’re having a meeting.

The door closes and the group turns to leave them be. Arthak mentions he’ll make inquiries with Selin as Solion seems potentially expendable. Nyxxa says there are other things they can collectively expend their time on than being petty to an ass.

Over the next several days after the Shadowsword leave, Halno is able to repair the telescope with help from Sylvos. Sylvos explains he was an astrologer, though many of his writings had been taken or destroyed.

The telescope seems to also function as a focus for scrying.

Arthak had dropped a line to Selin about Solion, and Selin explains he was a capable mage, but he was also one of the personal students of the Grand Magister Orican Runesight, so he benefits from a fair amount of nepotism. Selin isn’t a fan of him, but he does have magical might, and he and his folk have been doing a lot of work on the tree and roots, and also did assist in the Clipped Wing and others have gone to the front lines. On top of that, Solion was integral to sabotaging the arcane sanctums during the invasion.

Mid-March

In the midst of the settlement once known as Tranquilien, which has been transformed into a forward operating outpost of the Horde, Arthak arrives with Gul’dan and a handful of warlock advisors as well as Lantresor and Gramgrun.

The group heads southeast to the southern lands of the Eversong Woods. It’s many days travel into the lands that were less controlled by the elves. There is unmelted snow kissing some of the trees, but much of it has started to melt with the coming spring. Between the heavy springs and general, overcast nature of the weather, it’s rather dark even during the mid-day.

There are less ruins of elven cities, and more wilderness and much older ruins. There are also signs of bloody, uneven skirmishes. There were some between elves and orcs, and others that are between elves and trolls, and also trolls and orcs.

There is the distinctive feeling that they are being watched as they settle down to camp. However, Gul’dan shows no fear, as this meeting was planned. Gramgun, however, seems increasingly nervous the further away from the water he gets.

Arthak Saurfang says: Are you alright?
Gramgun Laughingeye says: Haha, me? Yeah, totally fine here. Yeah, this is definitely where I shine. In the middle of a spooky forest being watched by giant folk who are not friendly.
Arthak Saurfang says: Well, we will make them friendly. Which is where you shine. Besides, if they fight, the time it takes them to fight the rest of us, is the time you take to flee.
Gul'dan says: And if this does turn aggressive, fear not. I am more than capable of ensuring we all get out without any difficulties. Stick close to me if you’re so nervous.

Gramgrun looks at Gul’dan and swallows.

Gramgun Laughingeye says: I think I may stay back here to make sure everything is fine.

Gul’dan chuckles.

Arthak Saurfang says: Hold the rear guard, my friend.

He pats Gramgun on the shoulder and moves forward.

As the group camps one evening, Gramgun asks if there is any idea of where they are going.

Gul'dan says: Patience, my friend. I know where we are headed, and when we arrive, you will know it. After all, they will have an intermediary to lead us to where the discussion will take place in the Hatchet Hills.

Gramgun nods.

Gramgun Laughingeye says: Whatever you say.

The next morning, the group awakens to find they had been surrounded by four Amani trolls. One is perched on a tree branch several feet up, looking down at Arthak. There is another on a low wall of some ruins, and a third crouched nearby, also watching.

The troll on the tree branch, with deep viridian skin and bright red hair, hops down and stands to his full height.

Amani Troll says: Ey mon. You be the envoys that want to talk to Zul’jin?
Gul'dan says: That’s correct.

Wordlessly, the trolls nod.

Amani Troll says: Come with me.

Two of the trolls disappear, but the third joins the apparent leader and start to lead the group towards a small lake.

At some point, there became more than four trolls, though it’s unclear when the number shifted. There were now easily over a dozen.

The group passes through more thick trees. The day is muggy with heavy rain, but the tree cover is so thick barely any gets beyond the canopy and instead hammers on the leaves overhead. Stone structures that resemble claws jut out of the ruins, and old abandoned temples are strewn into disrepair.

Many of the trolls start to reveal themselves to watch. There are trolls of every vocation. Some wear brightly painted wooden masks in all sorts of colors. Shrunken heads and skulls jingle on their outfits. There are warriors with pauldrons and trophies hanging from their person.

They are making a show of force. Some of them are hunched over, speaking in their native dialect. It is plain that these trolls are a bit bigger than the average orc. Some clearly recognize Quel’delar at Arthak’s hip.

Corpses are bound overhead, rich with the scent of blood. There are elves, felblood elves, and orcs, as well as trolls among the bodies.

They come to the foot of a ziggurat. Over a hundred steps lead to an altar, and another figure is moving down the steps. Arthak recognizes him from the images he saw: it’s Zul’jin.

He’s easily over 8 feet tall and has bulging muscles and a broad chest. There is a violet scarf around the bottom of his face, as well as around his missing left arm. Gilded axes are jingling at his hip.

He stops four steps from the bottom.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Well well! If it ain’t da Horde what come to visit old Zul’jin, ah? Ma boys say ya want to speak with me! Well, ya got ma ear. Whatchu want?

Gul’dan had cast a spell on himself as he moves forward.

Gul'dan says [tongues]: Honored warlord of the Amani trolls, we humbly thank you for seeing us. We understand that some of the first interactions between our people were hostile. But it has come to my understand we share common enemies, so we humbly thank you for allowing us to meet in your home. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Gul’dan…

He also introduces the others before continuing.

Gul'dan says [tongues]: And this Arthak, who will be our lead representative on these negotiations.

Arthak grunts.

Zul’jin steps down the last few stairs.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Well. Now that we got that out of the way. Ya already know who I am, and ya don’t need to know who anyone else is. So what can you offer the Amani that we can’t just take for ourselves?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Quite a bit, warlord.

Zul’jin’s eyebrow raises as he recognizes his native tongue.

Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: We can offer you our enemies, which have undone the elves of Quel'Tthalas. We can offer our magicks, our weapons, our knowledge. Many of the same things you in turn can offer us. Most of all, we can offer you a chance at a new beginning for your people.

Zul’jin’s cheeks crease in a hidden smile.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Hoho! Ya talk big. I like dat. Now let me make something perfectly clear to ya, Arthak. We trolls, the Amani, we’ve been around forever. We’ve seen empires rise and fall. And no matter what happens, we’re gonna be around forever. Nothin’ be able to put us down. Maybe we die, but they die too. As long as one of us survive, the Amani ain’t never die, and the Amani ain’t never have to start over. But I see where ya comin’ from. Ya want to give us a chance at revenge, to complete ma collection. And dat be somethin’ that Zul’jin can appreciate. But ya wouldn’t be comin’ here unless ya be needin’ somethin’ from the Amani.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Obviously not. I won’t play games. Our position is strong, and it should remain strong for some time, but we suffered a setback at the Sunwell. Loss of a connection to our homeworld, and with it supply lines. Reinforcements. Now we can re-establish that connection, but it will take time. What we need is momentum and to maintain that momentum.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Ohhh. So dat how you do it, mon? Ya see I be watchin’ the elves for a long time. Dere magics… it always made the Amani weak. Here in the lands they think they own. But sometime ago, that power waned, and Zul’jin be thinking it because of that little well they got. So you take that from them, and then they broke the whole damn thing. Is that it?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Quite so.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Hohoho! If the others are to be believed, the elves aren’t nothin’ without their magics. So I guess we got you to thank for that.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: You do. That said, they found other magics. Blodier. Colder.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: If they want blood we give them blood! What need to be decided, is if we give it with you, or our own way.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: And that’s the question I need to answer. Before we continue, I have a gift for you.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Do ya now? I’ll have you know, I stopped counting namedays about 200 years ago.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Well, this is more a show of good faith. A little meat, or steel, behind our words. I must confess, I am uncertain how you’ll take it, but…

Arthak pulls out the arm he had forged.

Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: This is a fully functional prosthetic, animated by magic and my own design. It will function as well as the arm you lost, and it has other features I built in. That being said, my information isn’t clear… I understand that some scars are worth keeping. So. I mean no insult.

Zul’jin looks at Arthak’s eyepatch, and there is the crinkle of a smile behind his scarf. He starts to laugh.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Ya must really want me to be a part of your little club, mon.

He reaches out and takes the arm, and he examines it.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: I got to say, mon, this be rather thoughtful of ya.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: I made two. This one contains an emergency weapon. A blade.

He rolls the wrist of the weapon and a blade shoots out.

Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: An emergency weapon. The other has a similar mechanism, but it shoots a projectile. Smoke. Alchemist’s fire. Poison. As long as it’s the right size. Either one is yours, regardless of how this talk goes.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: I think dis one be fine. But let Zul’jin tell ya a little story, Arthak. And den maybe we get back to this talk. Den maybe you understand what Zul’jin be needin’ from the Horde.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Very well.

Zul’jin turns away and holds the arm for a second.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: I lost this arm after the second troll wars. Ya see, after those no good traitors turned their backs and summoned their Loa. I lost a lot of blood. Zul’jin almost died that day, but I wasn’t able to stop myself from bein’ captured by the elves. One in particular. An old friend by the name of Brightwing. One of their ranger captains. He found me. He kept me chained up, but it take more than that. To escape, I tore my own arm off. I lost me eye during the fight before. I didn’t need that arm. I don’t need that arm. What I be needin’ be vengeance. What I be needin’ be blood for all the blood they spilled against the Amani tenfold. What I be needin’ be vengeance for Zul’jin, for every other Zul’jin that’s ever risen against the elves. And I be needin’ my collection back. And I be needin’ to grow it more, ya see.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Fine story.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: So I appreciate this trophy. But as far as I’m concerned, that’s what this is. But I be keepin’ it mon, so I remember the promises that will be made or broken. I hope ya understand that.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: I do. I too have a collection.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Do ya now?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: I do.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: I be thinkin’ that little piece at your hip be one of them?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Not quite. But. It is a trophy.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Ya see, I guess you might expect, the elves made sure to take all my things. I guess they wanted to return the head of their beloved old king, ya. But ya see, my collection of kings needs to be growin’. After all, seems these humans and elves have put more in the places of the ones I take. They like daisies, they are. You help me get another one or two, and you be havin’ a good friend in old Zul’jin.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: As I understand, they have more than kings now. They have high kings. Kings of kings.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Hohoho! I guess I be needin’ to be doing extra work to make sure such a thing is well preserved before I shrunk it, aye?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Aye!
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Oh. And one more thing. If ya ever find Halduron Brightwing, ya give him to me, and ya give him to me alive. I have a special score to settle with him and his friends. Lor’themar, Liadrin, Dar’khan. I want them for my collection too, if ya can. But especially, Halduron, and their new king. After all, I did have myself a nice collection of Sunstriders. There’s only one that I be missing.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: You're lucky. I heard he died. But he’s better now.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: Good. I wouldn’t have someone taking that kill.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: It’s good I missed then.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: You be having my axe as long as you be keeping your word. And… as far as the little friends you have.

He gestures with the mechanical arm toward one of the flayed felblood elf corpses.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: We be seeing about them.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Yes. We will need to talk about that.
Gul'dan says [tongues]: I can assure you, warlord, that the Shadowsword fully intends to honor its arrangement with the Horde. They are as much an enemy of their former kin as you are. I have no doubts you’ll be able to set aside your former differences to say slay a common foe.
Zul'jin says [Zandali]: We’ll be seein’ about that, old one. If they be elves, then we have a problem. If you side with elves, you side against Zul’jin, and if you side against Zul’jin, you side against the Amani.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: I feel it should be maid plain, Zul’jin. The Shadowsword has much the same opinion. I’m not going to pretend I have any real knowledge of that history. It’s not mine. So what I have is this. We are allies. Even if you are not allied to the Shadowsword, they are allies to us. If you move against the Shadowsword, there will be a problem. And likewise, should the Shadowsword turn against you, the Horde will turn against them. We don’t expect you to like each other, or respect each other, and I won’t pretend I can make that history go away. But everyone on this side has a common interest. Common benefit to be gained.

Zul’jin furrows his brow.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: We be seein’ about that, Arthak. A piece of advise from someone that know elves. Ya can’t trust them. They gonna take what they want, when they want it. Ya wanna make sure ya can chop off the hand before it be in your pocket.

But Zul’jin raises his hand with the mechanical arm.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: But I don’t feel like squandering an opportunity like this just to kill a handful of elves whacked up on a bit of demon juice. So ya have my axe. But deliver a warning to this Shadowsword. They say out of our way, or don’t, and we be seein’ what happens. They may have their new weapons….

Zul’jin throws the arm up the air and he hurls an axe, which buries it in the forehead of the felblood corpse. He then catches the arm.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: But they still die like every other elf.
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Everything dies. It’s just what it takes to kill them.

Zul’jin points at Arthak with the arm.

Zul'jin says [Zandali]: I still like this one. Ya picked a good one to convince me, Gul'dan. Ya have the Amani. For now, at least. Lets see how long we can hold our words to be seein’ where this goes, aye?
Arthak Saurfang says [Zandali]: Aye.

Arthak chuckles.

Zul’jin turns and several of the Amani shout in agreement. Arthak and the others are invited to join in a celebratory meal. The meat is of an unknown type, but Arthak partakes. Gramgun is fortunately blissfully unaware that this meat may be potentially from a sapient being.

The group is then escorted out of the Amani lands, and before long, Amani forces will be along to assist.

Gul'dan says: Well done, Arthak. I knew that trusting you with this would be a wise decision.
Arthak Saurfang says: Thank you, elder.
Gul'dan says: The Horde grows stronger for your presence.
Arthak Saurfang says: And that’s by intention. Now we just need to ensure our newest allies stay out of each other’s way.
Gul'dan says: And that’s a task that we need to ensure is handled by the appropriate forces. As long as our allies understand the importance of these arrangements, they will not get ideas to cross the Horde. If they do, then our true allies will reveal themselves.
Arthak Saurfang says: We will. Though I am relying on both believing the other will betray us. As long as no one takes first initiative, we may be in luck.
Gul'dan says: We will see if victory emboldens them in the future. But we have ways to placate those difficult ambitions, if needed. You did well. All of you.

Within the next few months, the Amani trolls join in allegiance with the Horde.

Sometime in April through June

Nyxxa had been spending some time around the tree meditating. While she was doing so, she could have sworn she heard something. She opens her eyes and looks around, picking up the location of the sound. It’s a small rumbling sound from somewhere above her.

Nyxxa hops up to the upper branches, and she sees a small figure. There’s the sound of a small cat, somewhere between a meow and a hiss. Its claws dig into the tree, and it looks down at Nyxxa with two bright, green eyes.

Nyxxa tries to coax the small creature, and it starts hissing, but she climbs up to its branch.

Nyxxa says: How’d you get all the way up here?

She starts to shimmy closer to the cat, and it remains frozen. Nyxxa pulls out some dried meat rations and offers it to the cat. It swipes at her, but doesn’t connect, and slowly it starts to retrieve the food and shimmies back again to eat.

Nyxxa continues to try and coax the cat, and over time, it starts to creep closer. Nyxxa notices it has a collar. As she looks closer, it seems the writing is in Thalassian, but she is able to piece enough of it together to determine its name seems to be “Mischief”.

Nyxxa says: So Mischief is your name, huh.

The cat looks up, but then settles itself lower again.

Nyxxa continues to lure the cat closer to the trunk of the tree with food so its footing is more secure. She examines the cat closer, and she is able to detect the cat seems to be a fiend.

Nyxxa says [Eredun]: Can you understand me?

The cat’s ears perk up.

Nyxxa says [Eredun]: Do you want me to help you get down?

Mischief seems hesitant, but settles in to watch Nyxxa. Nyxxa grabs her water skin and pours some water out for the cat. Immediately, Mischief goes to drink the water out of the divet. After she drinks it all, Mischief looks up at Nyxxa expectantly, and Nyxxa pours more out.

Nyxxa reaches out a hand slowly and the cat bristles, but Mischief allows Nyxxa to touch her. Nyxxa hangs out for a bit, and Mischief falls asleep. Nyxxa slowly lifts up Mischief after a bit to move her, and the cat’s eyes open and she latches onto Nyxxa’s arm, but allows Nyxxa to carry her down the tree.

As soon as Nyxxa hits the ground, Mischief wiggles out of her arms and sprints off.

Nyxxa sighs.

Nyxxa says: At least I got the cat out of the tree.

Nyxxa haphazardly waves good-bye to the cat and then opts to head back to the house she was staying at with Levia after leaving some food and water at the base of the tree.

The next day, Nyxxa tells Levia about the cat, and then goes to check the food. It’s gone.

She puts more out, and every day it's gone.

About four days later, when Nyxxa goes to leave, she sees Mischief sitting on the ground in front of her door. There is an empty bowl drug to the door from the base of the tree.

Nyxxa laughs as the cat meows expectantly, and goes to get more food and water for Mischief.

Throughout the course of the time skip, Mischief does not come into the house until one of the last days of June where Mischief had darted inside when the door was opened and immediately jumped onto a counter.

Nyxxa is unable to find out who owns the cat, and her best guess was that it was a familiar whose master may have died.

In a similar sense, Azgadaan had purchased a scroll of find familiar. He begins the ritual, trying to summon his mother’s former familiar, Ini. The scroll burns up as he finishes the casting, and the magical embers form a very small, localized portal.

A creature appears, its paws out, and his tail straight up It’s a marsuul. It doesn’t look the same as it used to. It looks a bit more haggard and it has a few more scars than it did before. It seems to be panicking, but then it sees Azgadaan.

Almost immediately, the marsuul relaxes and chirps.

Azgadaan says: Ini? Is that really you?

The marsuul trots over to Azgadaan and sniffs at him. It then bites his finger, but then licks the blood and its eyes widen. It looks up at Azgadaan and jumps into his arms.

Azgadaan says: I missed you too. But ow. Why do you always do that to me?

The marsuul chirps happily and buries itself in Azgadaan’s hair to start nibbling on his tentacles.

Azgadaan says: Come on. Lets get you cleaned up.

He goes to get some water, and Nyxxa happens to be passing by and sees his new little friend. She stares, eyes wide and awkward as Azgadaan walks by.

However, as Ini sees Nyxxa, it starts to hiss and growl at her, getting protective of Azgadaan as he digs his claws into him.

Azgadaan says: Ow. Ow. Hey, Nyxxa.
Nyxxa says: What is that?
Azgadaan says: Oh. He was my mother’s marsuul. I used one of the scrolls I got to bring him back. The years haven’t been kind.
Nyxxa says: Yeah. He looks like he’s been through a lot, but he’s super cute.
Azgadaan says: I was just drawing some water to get him cleaned up.
Nyxxa says: It’s good that you’re reunited now! Do you need help? I can go… he doesn’t seem to like me much.

Ini seems to have started to calm down.

Azgadaan says: You can come by if you want.
Nyxxa says: Sure! Happy to help!

Nyxxa is looking intently at the small creature. Because Azgadaan seems to be fine with Nyxxa, after some time, Ini also runs up Nyxxa’s leg to investigate her as well.

Following the reuniting with Ini, one of the Broken Blade orcs found Azgadaan and Nyxxa and informed him that they had been unable to find any sign of the ooze shark creature Azgadaan had been searching for in Kilnar’s manor.

Azgadaan says: You don’t think it’s in here?
Broken Blade Orc says: If it is, it’s hiding very well for a giant fish. Especially seeing we drained all the water. But there’s something you might want to see.

The orc leads Azgadaan and Nyxxa to one of the pumping rooms. There appears to be a grate, and there are two things of interest. The first thing is a large, fat, rat skeleton that’s completely devoid of flesh. The second thing is, next to the grate, there seems to be a smear of blood.

Broken Blade Orc says: We found this. It doesn’t look like a cat did it, but it has us all baffled.

Azgadaan looks at the blood, and the consistency is off. It’s thicker than blood should be. Azgadaan collects some of it with his harvesting kit and Azgadaan summons Ini to investigate, but stops Ini from trying to lick the substance. However the mental communication seems to imply the marsuul thinks it’s blood. However, there’s something else there. Azgadaan asks for Nyxxa’s opinion, and she picks up that it seems to smell like wine.

Azgadaan prys the grate off, and he can tell it goes down fairly deep. However, it’s too small to fit any of them. Azgadaan has Ini climb down so he can see through the marsuul’s eyes, and one of his paws hits some goo, which it goes around. He continues to investigate, and he finds a narrow passage that seems to open up.

Nyxxa was examining the rat skeleton, but she could find nothing of note. Levia also arrives, as they had sent her.

Levia Blackflight says: Hey guys, what’s up. What the hell is that?
Azgadaan says: Dead rat. We’re chasing down what ate it. Want to come with?
Levia Blackflight says: Sure… is this about that shark thing?
Azgadaan says: Yes.

Levia nods.

Azgadaan upcasts dimension door to take Azgadaan and Levia down to the room Ini had found. They find themselves in the sewers, and Azgadaan gestures for Ini to come out. The marsuul appears to walk through an illusory wall that Ini didn’t seem to see, and clambers back on Azgadaan’s shoulder.

They light a torch that Nyxxa pulls out of her bag of holding.

Levia Blackflight says: So how deep are we planning on going in on this?
Azgadaan says: As long as we don’t get lost I can just bring us back.
Levia Blackflight says: True enough.

As they search around, after about an hour, Nyxxa finds a shark tooth. However, it seems the tooth is malleable and soft like jelly. She immediately drops it in disgust.

Azgadaan says: Ugh. That didn’t look right.
Nyxxa says: I was just assuming the shark was an illusion or… I don’t know how that worked.
Azgadaan says: The shark bit me. It wasn’t an illusion.
Nyxxa says: But. With… a jelly tooth? I don’t see anything else.
Levia Blackflight says: Hey guys… I don’t think we’re alone down here.

Nyxxa draws her glaives, and as Levia holds up the torch, they see the flash of eyes around them. Azgadaan dismisses Ini.

There are figures of about a dozen or more skarvyn looking at them.

Immediately, Nyxxa dims the glaives.

Nyxxa says [Draconic]: We mean you no harm if you mean us none in return.

There is some chittering amongst the skarvyn, and then a figure steps into the light. He is more well equipped than the others, but all his equipment is definitely scavenged.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: Who are you to speak? Your description is known to me. You have killed our people before. And you come again. Holding the fang of the crimson.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Fang of the Crimson? I apologize.

Nyxxa translates.

Azgadaan says: I think he may be mixing you up with your old friend.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Was that person with wings?

The skarvyn nods.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: She looked just like you and wielded the blades just as you do.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: I killed her and took them, so…

The skarvyn sniffs the air.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: You speak truths.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Were you left behind by your allies and your Lady?

The skarvyn spits into the water.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: The skarvyn have no allies. Only each other.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: That is good to hear. Well. Not good to hear. But… you left Sinestra behind then?

There are whispers and hisses and fear through all the skarvyn.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: Speak not her name!
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: My apologies.

She whispers to Azgadaan.

Nyxxa says: They’re no friends of Sinestra’s…

The skarvyn hiss at the name again.

Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Sorry, translating!

Azgadaan muses to himself.

Azgadaan says: So they’re available...
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: We’re no allies of her’s!
Nyxxa says: Speaking of which, Azgadaan, I should probably talk to you and Arthak about a meeting I had…
Levia Blackflight says: Great, Nyxxa, but we should focus on this.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: So you have all been scavenging down here?

The skarvyn reluctantly nods.

Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Do you… want help? We’d be willing to take you in if you want. It’s a shame you were left here.

The skarvyn holds up a hand.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: We do not make decisions without Eralaz.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Eralaz?
Skarvyn says [Draconic]: You speak of skarvyn, you speak to Eralaz.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: I see.
Azgadaan says: Levia, you don’t have tongues today, do you?
Levia Blackflight says: Sorry, didn’t know I’d be making first contact.
Skarvyn says [Draconic]: You, weapons away, come. Eralaz judge your worth. Or leave. You choose.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Do you speak common?
Skarvyn says [Draconic]: Some have gift, not all. Eralaz has the gift. Eralaz understands much.
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Well, if my friends put down their weapons, can they come?

The skarvyn looks to Azgadaan and Levia, and he briefly discusses with his fellows. Finally, the skarvyn nods.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: The Burnt Grove will protect us if this is deceit.

Azgadaan puts away his weapon, as does Levia.

Nyxxa says: This may be the first project of the Unbound then… if they also hate Her as much as we do.
Azgadaan says: And they may know where my prey is.
Levia Blackflight says: Damn, you really hate that thing don’t you?
Azgadaan says: If something bites me, I want to bite it back.
Nyxxa says: Maybe you would make a good demon hunter.
Azgadaan says: I like my eyes.
Levia Blackflight says: Yeah. Aracyra probably does too.

There’s a snicker.

Skarvyn says [Draconic]: What you say!
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Oh, just that he has nice eyes.
Skarvyn says [Draconic]: You no say bad about skarvyn?
Nyxxa says [Draconic]: Oh. No. Just that we are happy to talk to you. And my friend is looking for something.

Nyxxa offers a description of the ooze and there are several hisses of “The Crimson”.

Nyxxa says: Ohhhhh.
Skarvyn says [Draconic]: We speak not of the Crimson aside from in the presence of Eralaz. Lest we summon it. Come. Follow Loryx.

The trio follows Loryx through the sewers to a heavily collapsed area.

Loryx says [Draconic]: Come, not far. Burnt Grove is close. If you betray the Burnt Grove, it will remember. Betray not the skarvyn.

It seems like a building has almost collapsed into the sewers, which is absurd, but Loryx leads them into a large, winding chamber. It’s completely pitch black, and seems to be a cavern.

There are dozens of skarvyn, and Loryx clinks his weapon to get their attention and alert them that it isn’t an attack.

Their hooves (and feet) brush on charred grass, and when they look down, they see ashen, crushed grass. And in the distance is an ashen, burnt tree, and there is a coating of burned leaves around it. In front of the tree is another skarvyn kneeling before the tree.

All around this tree, there are skarvyn just living and existing.

Loryx tells the group to stop, and he approaches Eralaz and the two of them embrace and nuzzle snouts against each other, and then he steps behind the other skarvyn as Eralaz starts to speak.

Eralaz says [Common]: Greetings, strangers from above. My beloved has informed me of what brings you to this humble grove. I hope we all leave this place enlightened for the experience. Bereft of violence that has plagued our people since our change.
Nyxxa says [Common]: As I understand what violence started was not your fault, and we did simply self defense. If this is the chance to bury the hatchet, I want that.
Eralaz says [Common]: I want to believe you, and I hope we can. Might I ask your names?

The trio introduces themselves.

Eralaz says [Common]: It is a pleasure. I welcome you to this sacred place, and hope you can find the succor it has brought us. My beloved also tells me you seek to hunt the Crimson.
Azgadaan says [Common]: That’s my goal, yes.
Eralaz says [Common]: The Crimson has plagued us since we spread across these sewers. Since we were born anew. But the Crimson has become strong. It has become a monster. Harrying us from the fringes of our tunnels as we fight for our survival. It is a beast, great and powerful, and devouring, and we face extinction. If you seek its demise, we will tell you what we know, and if you destroy this, then we will may perhaps believe you seek to be our friend. But the orcs, your allies, have slain many. We would need assurance that they would not strike us down. I am a poor leader, but I am all my people have. Those of us that remained.
Azgadaan says [Common]: If you ally with us, I can guarantee the orcs will abate their assaults.
Eralaz says [Common]: I will believe you once you prove yourselves friends to the skarvyn.
Azgadaan says [Common]: Why do you call it the Crimson?
Eralaz says [Common]: Because it burns with a crimson fire and the disparate voices of the great beast alike.
Azgadaan says [Common]: Hm. It wasn’t on fire before.
Nyxxa says [Common]: Perhaps the fel activity has changed it.
Eralaz says [Common]: We are a simple folk. Descriptions can be… it is red.
Nyxxa says [Common]: That makes sense.
Eralaz says [Common]: Like blood and fire.
Nyxxa says [Common]: One question. That leaf above you… what color is it?
Eralaz says [Common]: It is crimson but fear not! It has nothing to do with the Crimson!
Nyxxa says [Common]: I was told of a red dragonleaf tree hidden under the city. And that I should find its fate so I could see that it was well.
Eralaz says [Common]: I know only the Burnt Grove. If it is the dragonleaf tree you seek, know it guided us here. I know not how. I believe it reached out to me. And only through reverent prayer and meditation has it responded to my pleas.

He gestures to the solitary leaf.

Eralaz says [Common]: I consider this to be one of my greatest accomplishments. Well. One of them.

He glances to the other skarvyn behind him.

Nyxxa says [Common]: You’ve done amazing work.
Eralaz says [Common]: I thank you, Nyxxa, the reverence you treat the grove with is understood and appreciated.
Nyxxa says [Common]: Such things were important to me before. It’s a part of me still.
Eralaz says [Common]: I believe it is a part of all of us. From the earth we come and to the earth we return. Our blood and body nurture the trees, and the trees nurture us.

Many of the skarvyn echo the mantra in draconic.

Nyxxa says [Common]: You said that before you were change… do you remember?
Eralaz says [Common]: Only fleeting things.

Loryx speaks to Eralaz quietly in draconic.

Eralaz says [Common]: Some gifted among us are lucky as I am. Perhaps a blessing from the grove, or the earth, we remember fleeting memories of our past lives. It is why I can speak, and why I share my love with Loryx. Some retain skills of their past, of their former lives before they were born. But others forge new destinies for themselves, bereft of shackles and guided by the grove. It is from those memories.
Nyxxa says [Common]: You are remarkable.
Eralaz says [Common]: All creation is as dust. But your words are kind.

Nyxxa and Azgadaan speak briefly.

Nyxxa says [Common]: I know you’re on board for this regardless, but what of you Levia?
Levia says [Common]: Yeah, we might want to get some help though. Um. Is there a time limit on this?
Eralaz says [Common]: The longer the Crimson persists, the more dangerous it will be. More will die or turn to stone…
Nyxxa says [Common]: If it sounds this different, the longer we wait the more it will change.
Azgadaan says [Common]: For the stone… does it need to touch you?
Eralaz says [Common]: It’s hard to say. Few that encounter the Crimson survive. We defeated some of the lesser monsters. They would spray upon you and crystalize you before devouring you.
Azgadaan says [Common]: Are there remains?
Eralaz says [Common]: We have recovered remains, yes.

They reveal several skarvyn frozen in what appears to be red crystal.

Azgadaan says [Common]: That may be fixable.
Eralaz says [Common]: We have yet to be able to rescue our brethren. I have beseeched the Burnt Grove for answers. But none have come.
Nyxxa says [Common]: We have some allies that may be able to help and we can trust.
Eralaz says [Common]: We have placed our fate in your hand at this point. With the Burnt Grove as our witness, we place our trust in your companions as well.
Nyxxa says [Common]: From what I know of your situation, there would be many transgressions I would have righted, and I have friends that feel the same.

Eralaz approaches and smiles, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Eralaz says [Common]: You have a kind heart, Nyxxa. Though you must earn the trust of the skarvyn, you have my trust. And all of you.

Nyxxa smiles, her lip quivering slightly. She then turns to Azgadaan and says they should maybe try to reach Rehgar, as Rehgar wanted to help the skarvyn where he could.

Azgadaan says [Common]: Can you show us the way up?
Eralaz says [Common]: Yes. Follow the ruins up. It bears the marks of corruption from She.
Nyxxa says [Common]: She destroyed this place?
Eralaz says [Common]: I know the destruction she leaves in her wake. We will guide you best we can to the domain attacks from the Crimson have been most prevalent. Be warned. There’s no telling the strength the Crimson has gathered.
Nyxxa says [Common]: It could be a threat to all of us. But thank you for meeting with us, and putting your faith in us.
Eralaz says [Common]: Of course. You will be taken to the surface.

The trio is lead back to the surface and Nyxxa contacts Arthak via sending stone to inform him that they have some things to talk about.
