Chapter Three: The Scales Tip
Selin was among the members of the Shadowsword that Orican Runesight sent as representatives to the meeting of Arthak Saurfang's Clipped Wing coalition, which had been organized to deal with the Blood Shrike and the members of the Thalassian resistance that had taken root in the sewers below Silvermoon. Following the ambush by the Resistance, he spoke briefly with Halno regarding the tactics of their people, and admitted that while the Shadowsword knew much of the city, it was likely the Resistance knew all of it due to the presence of the Farstriders. He stated that, for the time being, there would be a contingent of Shadowsword stationed in the palace, and Halno was welcome to drop by to speak more whenever he wished.
It was an offer that Selin found Halno followed up on very quickly. Specifically, Halno was seeking information about elves of the Windrunner family. Selin offered a brief summary of the Windrunners, expressing that the Ranger-General of Silvermoon had always been a Windrunner and they have branched into many facets of high elven society. In fact, the woman that had appeared at the meeting of the Clipped Wing--Sinestra--was also a Windrunner, though by marriage instead of blood. However, Selin admitted that her husband, Zendarin, was not on good terms with the core members of the family.
However, due to Halno's questioning, Selin was able to put together that the undead mage's body was that of the slain Sylvos Windrunner--who was the eldest brother of the Windrunner sisters Alleria, Sylvanas, and Vereesa, as well as the youngest brother Lirath. However, Selin did not have much personal experience with Sylvos, and the deceased magister had been a quiet, unambitious man, but one of great talent and who had garnered a good deal of respect.
Selin continued to distribute what sparse information he had of the Windrunner clan directly, and in the process, admitted that the two children of Lirath, Velameestra and Gilveradin, had been active in Silvermoon and directly involved in attempting to stop the ritual that had opened the Dark Portal. Halno seemed to express some concern that these children, given their involvement, would be a problem later, though Selin expressed that the fact the king and other leadership had chosen to rely on such children may very well be why Silvermoon had fallen and Kael'thas was unable to return to his throne.
At the end of their conversation, Selin requested that Halno remove his mask, which the mage complied with, and Selin expressed a degree of admiration for the depths the Horde was willing to plumb for power before the pair parted ways.
When Shaspira ordered Velhari to purge the rogue Dragonmaw Clan orcs that were loyal to Sinestra, a contingent of Shadowsword also arrived as backup with Selin at their head. Arthak, after some urging from Nyxxa and upon noting the usefulness that Levia Blackflight offered with her healing during the fight, requested that she be permitted to continue to aid them in future endeavors. Selin agreed, expressing it would be useful to have a Shadowsword liaison with them even if Orican Runesight would be irritated at Levia being out from under his direct thumb.
