Burning Legion

The Burning Legion is a vast, innumerable army of demons and corrupted races that ultimately seek to destroy any shred of order in the universe. They have ultimately destroyed countless worlds due to their mad lust for power, and are solely responsible for the genocide of thousands of races across the universe. In theory, it is their mission to undo the work of the Titans in order to restore the universe to his original state of chaos so that the Void Lords can no longer corrupt it. As far as their leader, Sargeras, is concerned, if everything is destroyed then life will begin again—safe from the corruption of the Old Gods.

Organization

The sheer number of demons that inhabit the Twisting Nether are infinite, but not all are loyal to the Burning Legion. Sargeras's original invasion of Azeroth during the War of the Ancients had him at the head of one million demons, though the Legion was ultimately defeated and cast back into the Twisting Nether to recoup their forces. The exact number that makes up the armies of the Legion in the modern day is unknown.
