Description
Biography
Shortly after the War of the Ancients, the tauren hero Huln Highmountain used the Hammer of Khaz'goroth to banish the corrupted Earth-Warder Deathwing from the Broken Isles. Afterwards, he and Igrul the Scalebane came across a clutch of black dragon eggs in the depths of Neltharion's Lair, along with the body of an ancient dragon broodmother that had seemingly been slain by Deathwing. Igrul argued that the eggs should be destroyed, but Huln insisted on using the Hammer to purify one of the eggs, which in turn permanently freed it from the corruption of the Old Gods. Soon after, the egg hatched, and Huln decided to call the whelp "Ebonhorn" after its tiny black horns.
Ebyssian had seemingly been born knowing his true name, but over the years he spent under the guardianship of Huln, he came to identify more with the name the tauren had given him. When he learned to take a visage form, it was that of a Highmountain tauren, and he took on the role of a Spiritwalker to guide Huln's descendants during their reigns as High Chieftain. He only revealed his true identity to them upon their ascension ceremony, and as generations passed, new "Ebonhorns" would fulfill the same role, all said to be a descendant of the prior one.
While he was fond of all of Huln's descendants, he had a specific fondness for Mayla Highmountain, who had come to affectionately call him "Ebba". He also came to know the harpy Rak'Symma as she was raised by the Wild God Blaithe, and they also developed a fond relationship, even though the great raven kept his charge secluded far away from civilization, hoping to shelter her until the time was right.
Chapter Five: Civil War
Ebonhorn was present at the meeting at Thunder Totem between the Highmountain tauren and the drogbar leader, Dargrul, where they had come together to discuss the stewardship of the Hammer of Khaz'goroth. As a result, he bore witness to the death of Ulan Highmountain when Dargrul had seized the Hammer and caused an eruption of Azerite to pierce through the High Chieftain's chest. When the warband of Arthak Saurfang, guided by the harpy Rak'Symma, arrived in the midst of the conflict that broke out, Nyxxa Murkthorn's special sight revealed to her that Ebonhorn was actually a disguised dragon, though she kept the information to her chest in favor of dealing with the battle. Ebonhorn displayed immense strength and powerful, seemingly shamanic ability during the altercation, and with Ulan dead, his had turned the entirety of his focus on protecting his daughter, Mayla.
When Dargrul and his honor guard fled, Rak'Symma attempted to revive Ulan, but was unsuccessful, and Ebonhorn begged the surprise group of reinforcements to help secure Thunder Totem as the seismic activity of the use of the Hammer of Khaz'goroth was threatening to shatter it. While lives were lost, they were fewer than they would have been, and the chieftains of Highmountain reconvened to discuss their next stepss.
Ebonhorn had retrieved Ulan's body and covered it with a shroud, and reassured Mayla that he would be there to give her counsel in her new role as High Chieftain. Torok Bloodtotem challenged the claim, as he found Mayla to be an untested chieftain, and it had been her father that had invited Dargrul to Thunder Totem in the first place.

Trivia
Ebonhorn says: Dargrul stole the hammer. He struck out at the chieftain when he tried to stop him. There are legends of that hammer… one is that what it builds is unbreakable, but what it destroys can never be repaired…. These crystals… are strange. Strangers. I know you have already helped us, but I would beg one more boon of you. Thunder Totem is still under attack. The seismic activity unleashed by the hammer is still threatening to make the place crumble. I will try to secure it from here, but please, if you can save the people of this place, we will be forever grateful.
