The druid of the pack continued to wrestle with Seria while Luma and their turrets fired at the pack ravager and it fell to the ground. The bleeding feral worgen slashed at Vel, and another worgen druid appeared on the roof behind Tol’vas. The orb of nature energy went wide as it was hurled down at him.
Another feral worgen slashed at Radiant, but Uther interceded with his shield and deflected the attack to himself. Vel’s eyes went to Uther and she pulled out one of the grenades that Luma had created. She hurled it in the midst of Uther and the feral worgen, and the holy water started to spray around. They were sent into confusion and frenzy. She then rounded back on Nandos and slashed into him, which opened the bleeding wound even wider.
The remaining son of Fenrus roared and pivoted over to attack Vel. Radiant reared back and charged through the worgen that surrounded Vel which knocked several of them aside as Uther cracked his hammer into Nandos’s side and Radiant trampled into the son of Fenrus.
Tol’vas conjured more lightning that surged through the pack form worgen, and a frosty wind blew in a slashing line through Nandos. The blood in his fur started to freeze, and Nandos snarled as he started to drop, just barely hanging on to consciousness. He then stumbled to the ground as the bleeding became too much, and Valorinn snapped down on the son of Fenrus.
Two of the feral worgen started to wrestle and fight as the effects of the Ritual of Balance took hold on their minds and sent them into pure confusion.
Seria slashed into the druid of the pack and drew some of his life essence from him as his fur was set alight. With another devastating strike, the druid fell to the ground. A vine wrapped around Tol’vas arm, but Tol’vas jerked his hand and sent the druid that attacked him flying.
As the remaining group was finished up, a large, blonde worgen appeared brandishing his axe as he started to set about dealing what the stragglers. It was Arthas.
Tol’vas moved over to stabilize Nandos.
A silvery, brisk wind blew around Nandos and stemmed his bleeding.
Uther smiles broadly.
He approached some of the harvest witches and after some tension, it was recognized that Nandos had entirely surrendered, and the other druids quickly set him about getting the feral worgen out and back to safety. The sector was as secure as it could be.
Tobias, in his worgen form, also entered the sector and grinned wildly as he set his eyes on the gunspires. It was time to start using the heavy weaponry.
The group continued through to the merchant's district, and Vel witnessed a giant flock of bats that streaked through the sky towards the center of the district. They had met up with Elissa on the way. Then there was a loud scream, and it soon became evident that there were people that needed to be saved.
Vel climbed up onto a building, and she witnessed several large bats and swarms of smaller bats. They looked up at her and screeched.
A worgen stalked from the shadow, adorned with cloths and leathers. He sniffed at the air, a cloth covering his eyes.
Tol’vas recognized him as a druid known as Odo the Blindwatcher. He had lost his eyes to felfire during the War of the Satyr, and he was known for having a pack of bats he had affinity with because they too were unable to see. He was a very violent and dangerous druid.
There were more screams, and the screams then abruptly stopped. They saw another worgen that towered over eight feet tall. Blood was caked on his fur and his fangs, and pieces of cloth were trailing behind him. He was a man known as Razorclaw the Butcher. He had abandoned his previous name when he became a worgen, and he was among the most enthusiastic about being a worgen and committing acts of brutal violence.
There were also two druids of the pack lurking in their massive pack forms in addition to the flurries of bats and several feral worgen.
Valorinn ran up the side of the building and launched himself into the air after the nearest giant vampire bat.
Razorclaw stalked forward with a wide grin.
Vel ran up after Valorinn and with two slashes of her sword as she opened up a gaping wound in the vampire bat. It screeched and began to flail on the roof. A massive druid of the pack howled and leapt onto the roof next to Vel. He growled.
The massive wolf tried to bite down on her and his jaws enclosed her completely, but he was blasted back by a shield of arcane energy.
Another druid of the pack ran at Uther as it materialized out of the shadows of a building, flanked by two pack ravagers. The druid of the pack got a good bite on Uther, and the thought that he should probably get that checked out later crossed his mind. He then slashed at Uther with his claw, and a blast of radiant damage blew back on the druid of the pack as his shield was surrounded by golden light. The pack ravagers swarmed up onto Uther with biting and tearing.
Another vampire bat started to dive down at Valorinn. It grabbed onto to Valorinn as it sunk its fangs into his neck and wrapped the wolf in its wings. Another one went for Vel, but it missed. Another druid of the pack closed on Seria as Razorclaw the Butcher sauntered forward. Luma was also harassed by another vampire bat.
Elissa moved over to cover Luma and used [Consecreation] as a wide circle of golden-green energy erupted from the ground.
Swarms of bats started to harass Valorinn as they fluttered and screeched around him. Seria took a massive strike with one of her flaming claws at one of the feral worgen. Uther and Radiant worked to hold the line against the other druid of the pack.
Odo also climbed to the top of the building and sniffed at the air.
He looked straight at Tol’vas.
Odo snarled.
Tol’vas used [Call Lightning] and the lightning crashed into the nearest druid of the pack. A surge of raw nature magic also erupted around a pack ravager.
Vel slashed at the druid of the pack and opened up a bleeding wound while the giant vampire bat dragged Valorinn away to try and feed upon him in private. The druid of the pack slashed at Vel in response. Another druid of the pack continued to try and tear into Uther, but it was also deflected aside by a shield of arcane energy. Valorinn bit back at the vampire bat and tore out a massive wound.
Odo leaped down at Tol’vas and slashed into him. A blast of cold energy slammed back into Odo as his claws connected with the frosty armor. But the battle seemed to be turning against them for a moment, as if they had laid a successful trap. The druid of the pack on Uther continued to gnaw at him, but with every strike he was blasted with holy light.
Razorclaw the Butcher leapt into the air and landed on the top of the tower on the building. He scraped his blades together.
Swarms of bats tried to bite Vel, but their fangs were not particularly effective and they quickly realized that she was not as delicious as they desired.
Tol’vas summoned another blast of lightning and also conjured a [Spiritual Weapon] that slammed into Odo. Feral worgen continued to slam into Luma, but they threw down a grenade and a blast of the holy water swept over the feral worgen as Seria dueled with another druid of the pack. Several of the feral worgen started to whine and then fled as they were confronted with existential crises. Elissa stroked the head of one of them that briefly cowered before her.
Seria was able to knock out another feral worgen and then rounded on another. A swarm of bats began to bite at Seria and another feral worgen leaped up at her. A vampire bat bit down at Tol’vas, but at the last second the bat was reflected by a force field from one of Luma’s turrets. Elissa looked up at Razorclaw the Butcher.
She used [Blink] to get up next to the worgen. She slashed her blade into the behemoth of a worgen, but he looked back at her.
Razorclaw swept his claw around back at her, but she blocked his claws with her shield.
The one feral worgen that was able to resist the effects of the holy water charged at Luma, but was blasted with Elissa’s consecration. One of the pack ravagers ran at Tol’vas, who was able to effortlessly deflect his attacks with the scythe.
Uther slammed his hammer into the druid of the pack as Radiant pranced around the claws. The uppercut stunned the massive wolf, and then a downward swing delivered the finishing blow. The blow carried into one of the pack ravagers as Radiant kicked him in the face.
The giant vampire bite fighting Valorinn managed to latch onto him again as another vampire bat was unable to land an attack on Vel.
A massive, silvered cannonball fired through the air and slammed right into Razorclaw. It stopped when it hit him, but it actively knocked the wind out of him, and he growled as he tossed the cannonball to the side.
A bat flew at Vel and she felt a claw rake across her eye and gouged it out. She grunted as a hand promptly went up to cover her eye and ducked under the druid of the pack as she retreated up towards Razorclaw to flank him. She then whipped her hand around as she performed the somatic components for [Blizzard], a spray of her own blood fueling into the spell as it summoned a massive blizzard over the rooftop and scattered the bat swarm while icicles impaled the druid of the pack, leaving it completely stunned. Her eye quickly repaired itself as the regeneration fixed the damage done. She bared her fangs before looking over at Razorclaw.
Uther swung around and struck down a pack ravager and then down on Odo with a devastating critical blow that left the blind worgen completely staggered as Radiant kicked back and slammed his hooves into the nearby vampire bat. The remaining pack ravager tried to focus on Uther, but a blast of holy light flared back at him and he cursed.
Odo coughed up blood, many of his ribs completely shattered. He ripped off his blindfold and slashed in desperation at Tol’vas. He managed to drive his claw into Tol’vas’s side. Tol’vas ripped his claw out.
Ice spread from the wound and froze Odo solid, a horrified expression frozen on the blind worgen’s face. Most of the vampire bats continued to fight, but one did opt to flee as did one of the remaining swarms of bats. One of the remaining vampire bats latched on Seria’s face and started to bite her, screeching about how it is the new master with the master’s death.
One of the other vampire bats were blasted out of the sky by one of Luma’s turrets as they threw a marble-sized prismatic device up onto the roof. The [Guardian of Faith] summoned in place and began to grow and spin as it fired off lasers at whatever drew close.
Seria continued to tank the worgen and bats as the druid of the pack that Vel had managed to stun bled out from the wounds she had inflicted and tumbled off the roof, dead.
Razorclaw tried to slash at Vel, but his claws raked harmlessly off an arcane shield she conjured. The worgen grunted and instead rounded on Elissa with his claws, which got past her defenses and slammed into her gut. She was sent sailing off the roof and the magics of her consecration flickered out.
There was just the sound of coughing as the wind had been completely knocked out of the half-elf, but it was followed by the sound of scrambling as she got back to her feet. Razorclaw then rounded on Vel, scraping his claws together.
He slashed at her, but his claws connected with Vel’s sword as she parried the blow aside, and Tol’vas then brought a blast of lightning crashing on Razorclaw. He snarled and glared over at Tol’vas, who just waved as another worgen tried and horribly failed to connect with the druid.
Valorinn continued to struggle with the vampire bat that had grappled him, and finally he managed to close his jaws around the creature’s throat. The massive wolf shook the bat back and forth and then dropped it to the ground, dead.
He returned to the rooftop and howled. Elissa got to her feet and shook her head.
She used her lay on hands to heal some of the wounds she had sustained. She then splashed the nearby feral worgen that was trying to gnaw on Luma’s turrets with holy water, and shushed it as it promptly fell unconscious. Storm clouds had started to form in the skies overhead and another cannonball came barreling through and slammed into one of the remaining giant vampire bats. Another started to move toward Vel, but it was promptly blasted by Luma’s guardian of faith. Realizing he was in trouble, the bat decided to leave. As did several of the others.
Meanwhile, Vel managed to grab onto Razorclaw’s head and wrench it aside to give her an opening to sink her fangs into his throat as they were coated with the magenta energy of [Heart Strike]. Tol’vas shifted his spiritual weapon up to the roof and it slammed into Razorclaw as well.
Razorclaw struggled against Vel and tried to slash at her, but his claws broke harmlessly against her arcane shield.
He snarled and managed to shove her off, but he was unable to move his position. Luma blasted another vampire bat out of the sky while Seria continued to tank the attacks from the remaining feral worgen and the druid of the pack. Seria bellowed and slashed her claws across the face of the remaining druid of the pack as Elissa ran forward to back Seria up. As Seria wrestled the massive wolf down, Elissa jumped up on Seria’s paw and stabbed her sword down into the wolf’s skull. She then jumped down to the ground and held her shield up to Seria for a high five.
Seria tapped her claw against the shield, and there was a small pulse of minty healing magic as some of Seria’s wounds mended.
Elissa then threw another ECG at the remaining feral worgen, and they fell under the effects of the Ritual of Balance.
Valorinn rushed up to Razorclaw and clawed at him with unleashed fury. Razorclaw’s body was battered and bleeding, but he was just barely holding onto consciousness. Uther managed to finish off the remaining pack ravager.
Luma’s force ballista skittered up to the top of the roof and lined up a shot. Razorclaw had started to turn and go for Valorinn, but the turret fired, and it blew a hole through the worgen’s head.
The hand turret gave her a thumb’s up. But then they heard the sounds of screams. Vel managed to gather up some of the bats that were knocked unconscious and, with Seria’s help, she asserted her dominance over them and sent them to use their echolocation to help find people. Meanwhile, Tol’vas summoned some dryads to also help look as they sprint around and mend some of their wounds.
Uther increased the volume of his voice with the Libram of Justice, and called out to the citizens to follow his voice as they had reclaimed the sector and there was safety awaiting them. Meanwhile, Luma set up a localized safe-zone with Elissa and Seria sought out some of the more hidden or wounded citizens and bring them back.
There had been a group of people that were living in the smuggler’s tunnels and had been hiding for literally years. Allied Gilneans quickly moved in to set up another base near a few of the entrances of the smuggler’s tunnels.
One of the dryads informed Tol’vas that Ceredwyn had seen a large, powerful, gray-furred worgen in Alpha Prime’s company that had split off from him. It was believed to be Genn. Tol’vas tried to analyze Alpha Prime’s perceived strategy.
He believed that Genn was at the noble quarter right now. And if they went now, they might be able to secure Genn as an ally before Alpha Prime could call him back as his own pawn. After some discussion, the group decided to follow the smuggling tunnels to the noble quarter.
When they emerged, they found themselves in the Greymane Court. However, it was almost uncomfortably quiet. But then they saw a figure moving in the shadows.
Halford Ramsey stepped forward.
Lorelei stepped out as well as she caught up with Ramsey and the group rapidly spread out to investigate the area. Seria used [Find Traps] and was able to route several agents and other setups. They found several bodies laid out.
Ramsey furrowed his brow.
He leaned over one of the bodies.
The trail led them to an old courthouse where there was a chalk outline.
Tol’vas could smell the people in the shadows. They were well-hidden, but the group could tell exactly what was about to happen. Ramsey walked towards the outline, and suddenly there was a gunshot. Ramsey spun around and then opened his hand. The bullet fell to the ground.
A Gilnean man with a bowler hat and a duster stepped out of the shadows.
Cox cocked his weapon, and figures leaped from the nearby buildings and moved to strike. However, the group caught sight of them before they could. And then there was a howl, and down the way, on top of a nearby building, they saw Genn Greymane. He jumped from building to building, running for the group.
Lorelei got her gun and rapier at the ready.
