July 31st

The group had once again returned to Azure Watch and manifested their humanoid forms on the outskirts. They head in and are promptly recognized by the draenei there. However, there is a notable thing that catches their eye--there are two furbolgs speaking with Acteon and another draenei scout. One of the furbolgs has bright white fur, while the other has black fur, and both have a variety of trophies decorating their fur.

Velameestra Windrunner says: We’re just getting a read on if anything else occurred, correct?
Remnii says: I believe so.

Acteon notices the group as they start to approach. He was speaking quite slowly to the furbolgs, and he seems to be understanding them as they respond back--apparently possessing one of the translation devices they had seen the draenei use before. The furbolgs accompany another rangari into one of the shelters.

Acteon says: You’re back! I hope you found everything you were looking for. Where is the short one? And who are they?

Acteon looks at Aramar and Makasa.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: They came through a tree.
Remnii says: Yes, we found everything we needed.
Acteon says: I assume you are being intentionally vague. What can I help you with?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Did you find anything while you were scouting?
Acteon says: I did. Arugoo and some of the other Stillpine had similar incidents with their people. They were unfortunately unable to save the injured. Apparently, they found the individual close to more of the wreckage of the Exodar in the northern section. The Stillpine have a home that is not too far from where the menagerie first crashed. While they were trying to commune with the beasts, one of them was struck down. Considering the proximity to the other wreckage the priestess was discovered, I believe that may be no mere coincidence. These attacks seem to be taking place close to the larger sections of the Exodar. It is possible they are trying to salvage them, or use them as bait. I cannot say for certain. I don’t know about the crystal-tech to say for sure.
Velameestra Windrunner says: And there have not been any check ins from the scouts at the Exodar?
Acteon says: No. And they are officially late. None of their sending stones have given any feedback either. Either they are lost or something has happened. If I had the extra manpower I would send a recovery team to retrace their steps, but unfortunately many of us are securing this area or are ahead with Niyelle on the Bloodmyst Isle. It is the most we can do to pray for their safety, and failing that, pray they did not suffer.
Remnii says: We were intending on heading towards the Exodar anyway. If it would be okay with all of you…

She looks at the rest of the party.

Remnii says: We can add this to our agenda?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: It sounds like whatever has been attacking also may be at the Exodar, so it may be a bit of a convergence, actually.
Acteon says: I cannot express what this would mean if any of the scouting team could be discovered, or at least if their final fate could be passed back to family and friends. We are a bit short-staffed, as you can tell. If you have any questions, I can answer them best as I can.
Remnii says: I know the Exodar is north. Beyond the changes to the environment, is there anything notable about the crash site?
Acteon says: It’s extensive. It crashed into the side of a large mountain. A portion of the vessel--the Exodar is the largest of the pieces that broke apart. Most of the other satellites and parts that fell are much smaller than the main chassis. I’ve bene there once. The majority of the hull is mostly intact though it is a bit… crooked. As long as you keep a solid footing you should be able to delve deeper into it and find any signs of where the others went. It’s possible their stones are being interfered with by the crystals. But once you arrive, you’ll see what has occurred. It is not pretty… we did not get much done.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Are there any signs or markings that you and the Rangari would have left for each other?
Acteon says: There are. They are somewhat complicated, but you were traveling with Samaara, yes? It’s possible you have seen some of them.
Remnii says: I believe between all of us, we should be able to find something.

Acteon nods.

Acteon says: Before you leave, make sure you are well-prepared and equipped. It may take some time to find them. If they were attacked, it’s possible whatever attacked them may still be out there.
Velameestra Windrunner says: We will be on alert.
Acteon says: Then may the Light be with all of you. I’ll be here in the meanwhile.
Remnii says: Krono ki cristorr.

Acteon repeats the phrase.

Remnii says: Our next stop is consul Menelaous, yes?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Yes. Do you know where he is?
Acteon says: probably doing more paperwork!

The scout gestures to the main tent, and the group approaches. He is, in fact, pouring over more paperwork, and he looks up as the group enters.

Consul Menelaous says: My friends! Remnii! You’ve all returned. I hope it’s with good news. Acteon relayed your discovery previously and said you were checking on something else. Have you discovered more about this culprit?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Yes and no.
Velameestra Windrunner says: We found more leads at the very least. We’re planning on following up with the scouts at the Exodar.
Consul Menelaous says: Good. There has been far too much bad news, and I’m starting to expect the worst. It may be good to have a fresh outside perspective. Did you need anything of me?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Were there any other transmissions from north on the other isle?
Consul Menelaous says: Yes. While cryptic, Niyelle suspects…

He gets quiet and glances about.

Consul Menelaous says: Niyelle suspects there may be something drastic occurring soon. She said that she’s tracked demons down to where they are operating out of, but it will take time to scout the area and make a plan of attack.
Remnii says: I imagine our presence will not help… as far as poking the hive.
Consul Menelaous says: Unfortunately not. If you’ve made contact with the demons responsible, they may have noticed. Putting the pressure on them may cause their plans to escalate, but then that may mean they will be sloppy. Do not blame yourself for winning, if that’s what you’re concerned about.
Velameestra Windrunner says: We got the name of the eredar operating on the isle up north if that would be useful.
Consul Menelaous says: It would.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Her name is Sironas. It seems she has been operating out of some of the bigger wreckage--working various experiments using the mutations of the area.
Consul Menelaous says: Sironas…

Menelaous quickly jots the name down.

Consul Menelaous says: I will get that information to Niyelle as soon as she is in contact again.

Remnii also asks Menelaous if he has any other information on the Exodar crash site, and he expresses all he knows is that it is incredibly hostile. The salvage teams do not typically stay more than a few days. Remnii thanks him.

Remnii says: That is all I had.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Our next step is likely reporting to the Exodar and seeing what we can find.

Menelaous nods.

Consul Menelaous says: And hopefully you’ll come back with good news but I won’t hold my breath. Not that you won’t… it’s just that…

He taps the pile of missives.

Consul Menelaous says: You get the idea.

The group turns to leave, but Menelaous speaks up again.

Consul Menelaous says: There is something that may help you. Let me put this frankly--I don’t see your arrival here as anything short of a message or sign that things are changing. If I can help spur this in the right direction, I will do so.

He retrieves a small vial with a pinkish-red liquid in it. He looks at it, and sighs, then hands it over.

Consul Menelaous says: This will help in emergencies.
Remnii says: May I ask what it is?
Consul Menelaous says: It is an exceptionally potent healing potion. I had the luck of coming across one, and I have been keeping it in case I ever found myself in a situation where logistics and mathematics would not save me.

He closes Remnii’s hand around it.

Remnii says: Thank you! While I hope we will not need and can return it to you, I thank you for your help. The Light is with us.
Consul Menelaous says: I can only hope it is, and if it’s not…

He gestures to the potion.

Consul Menelaous says: At least that is. I wish I could give you more…
Remnii says: You have given us plenty, consul. Let us do our part, and we will bring this to an end.
Consul Menelaous says: Then I should get back to my math. It was good to see you again. Hopefully next time it will be at the other end of all this.

The group heads out of the shelter and once more takes their cloud forms, taking off in the direction of the wrecked Exodar. It takes them about four hours to arrive at the crash site. The weather is warm, and muggy, and the druids are able to tell that it will likely rain later in the night. As they fly, pockmarking the abundant trees, they see other pieces of wreckage and crystals are scattered around the impact site--spearing both ground and water. Much of the wreckage had started to get reclaimed by nature, creating a strange dichotomy of nature and destruction.

They even see a small group of harpies lounging on some of the larger crystals, eating some sort of catch. Their feathers seem to have taken on a purplish-blue hue.

As they get closer to the Exodar, they quickly realize most of the mountain peak they see is the crystal-and-metal vessel itself. Then they start to descend about a mile out from the bulk of the crash. Many of the largest crystals are several stories tall, their height all the more obvious as the group reforms on the ground.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Remnii, have you been on the Exodar before?

Remnii looks around the immediate area, a bit shaken. She shakes her head.

Remnii says: No… the reason I was on Draenor for so long was because I missed the Exodar. It left Draenor before I was onboard.
Maraad says: Unfortunately, the journey was short-lived. Though we were able to escape Draenor, a number of orcs and demons had snuck aboard. They were able to do enough damage to the vessel systems that it made an emergency landing. What is referred to as the Violet Star… this is it.

Uther remembers seeing the Violet Star streaking through the sky when Lianne was born. It’s an interesting experience to see the source of that celestial event.

Remnii says: I saw the Exodar, but… such devastation.
Maraad says: I don’t think this was anyone’s intention.
Remnii says: We should keep moving.

Maraad nods and furrows his brow.

Maraad says: There were a few months of relative peace when we first landed. We tried to set up temporary settlements, but it was not long after that the night elves came.
Remnii says: That lines up with what Ash’alah said.
Maraad says: I wager the false Tyrande returned long enough to report in so that a larger force could strike. I imagine that’s when we were attacked.
Remnii says: What I saw in Ash’alah’s vision… the amount of fel… there is no way those were our people. Despite everything, I am glad the damage seems… less widespread than that of the Genedar.

She looks at the rest of the party.

Remnii says: The Genedar was a much larger vessel that crashed due to a nether storm on Draenor. This… is one piece of a citadel with three other satellites known as Tempest Keep. But Tempest Keep is long lost at this point. Tempest Keep is where I sent A’dal and my headband… and then it went off course. For context.

She looks at Uther, who nods.

Uther Menethil says: Much history in this place.
Remnii says: Last note I will make… our people are spread across the stars. The arrival of Tempest Keep and the sha’tari to aid the Draenor draenei… this was one of the first times our people could be together in 10,000 years. There are more colonies amongst the stars, but that is for later, and not for now. Thank you for listening and letting me get my head on straight for a moment. This is a lot to take in.

Remnii sheepishly ducks her head.

Remnii says: I believe we should all keep our eyes peeled. I believe we can find what the Rangari have left behind.

The group starts to move closer, and Vel is able to note some instances of thieves’ cant language. Most appear to be tally marks of sorts, and markings of passage. The area has been traveled in recently. One of the larger crystals, which almost resembles a claw that buzzes with energy, has a crack through the crystal. Periodically, there are sparks of energy coursing around it. The ground in some places seems to be crystallizing.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: If we’re willing to take a quick break, I can get a read on the area.
Velameestra Windrunner says: If you’re going to do that, I’ll get some detection magics in place.

Remnii takes the time to walk through the wreckage in contemplation, accompanied by Maraad.

Remnii says: Seeing it is different from hearing about it… I wish I was here to help, but maybe it’s better than I wasn’t.

Maraad looks off into the distance.

Maraad says: it is never going to be easy to come back here. Many lives were lost. But many lives will be saved by the end.
Remnii says: I know. I… I know.

Remnii follows Maraad’s gaze and notes a patch of ground that he seems to be looking at. There are several markers in rows--simple stone monuments that are clearly grave markers. Remnii sighs shakily and continues to walk, praying quietly and trying not to cry. She moves closer to the grave markers and reads as many of the names as she can.

As Vel finishes casting [Detect Magic], she senses an abjuring presence around the cracked crystal--specifically focused upon the lightning that emerges from it. Both she and Uther notice the energy quaver, pick up, and as Vel moves closer, a beam of light shoots out and connects with Vel’s magic. She experiences a surge of pain, and she drops down to her knees, the energy swirling around her.

The energy fades from the crystal, but seems to be manifesting around her.

Uther Menethil says: Are you alright!?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, I… believe?

She gets back to her feet starting to examine her hand and arm, noting the abjuring presence around her. Uther reaches out and touches her hand, and magic sparks off it.

Uther Menethil says: ...Interesting.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I’ll investigate this when we get another moment.

She starts to walk and quickly realizes that it’s like walking through heavier gravity.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I’ll… investigate this sooner rather than later.

She starts to cast [Identify], and Tol’vas finishes casting [Commune with Nature]. He doesn’t sense any powerful fiends, but there is influence from other planes of existence literally all over--reading as influence from the Twisting Nether and the plane of Light itself. He also gets prominent reads on other crash sites and bodies of water in the immediate area. He fills Remnii and Maraad in.

Medivh chats with Vel about some theories about what the magical effect might be, and her identify goes off that the aura is some sort of protective magics that is now clinging to her. The abjuration field is fading very slowly, likely over 24 hours or so, and seems to be a small expression of the magical wards on the outside of the hull of the Exodar that would have kept the vessel pressurized.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Well… it seems arcane energies won’t be quite as effective on me for the time being, so there’s that?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: What about sticks?
Velameestra Windrunner says: What…? Not sticks… what does that have to do with-- you know what, nevermind. It’s some sort of pressurized field. It could likely be dispelled, but it’s manageable. I don’t see the need to expend resources on that until we see what the status is.

Remnii ducks her head, for some reason feeling somewhat responsible.

Remnii says: My apologies… the vessels are largely naaru technology. Though the draenei have adapted to it… that is for the artificers, not me.

Maraad looks up at one of the crystals.

Maraad says: I have no idea how these things work.
Remnii says: Yet they have blessed us all the same.
Velameestra Windrunner says: These crystals are a fascinating expression of magic and technology, though whatever enchantments are on them are not really… meant for people, clearly. But it’s manageable. At the very least if anyone starts hurling arcane missiles around, I’ll be fine. We should continue moving. We will likely find more signs of the scouting party closer to the Exodar itself.

The group agrees, and Aramar offers Remnii a shard of crystal he had managed to find. Remnii smiles softly and thanks him.

Remnii says: There is much to think of here, but I will treasure it. Thank you.
Aramar Thorne says: Don’t mention it! It’s hard to believe something like this could even exist. It’s pretty amazing to look at. I hope I’ll get to see it in action someday.
Remnii says: Well, pending it’s salvageable… I believe that would be a goal. To extract it from here. It seems its presence has changed things here. It’s funny, before meeting the native species on Draenor, or coming here, this technology was all I knew. There are plenty of conveniences that could be helpful if people would be receptive, but that is thinking big, and thinking small would perhaps be better.
Aramar Thorne says: Seems to get harder everyday.

Remnii freezes for a moment, and then nods. She holds the crystal and fidgets with it.

Remnii says: To pass some time, have you ever heard of flash-forging?

Aramar shakes his head, and Remnii starts to explain the process. Vel picks up on the conversation, and notes it’s similar to using a machine to replicate the [Fabricate] spell.

Before too long, they make it to the boundary of the crater where the Exodar crashed. One of the ingresses had been opened to allow people to get in and out, and there are panels of metals that have been arranged into walkways. They enter into the wide hallways of the Exodar, and the floors are crooked and flat. Vel opts to walk along some of the walls to make more room on the more solid ground for the rest of the group. Vel is the first one to notice a humanoid figure--a draenic scout, but they seem to be slumped against the edge of the wall.

Everyone else sees it a few moments later, and Remnii pushes ahead. The draenei is not alive. The wounds that were on the priestess were on this scout as well, but much worse. They are Rangari, but they are covered in similar wounds. Part of their flesh is burned away, and it seems to be a much more extreme version of what was seen on the night elf.

Maraad stops, and they turn. Down the hallway are about another half-dozen bodies, each one more damaged than the last, and all of them Rangari.

Remnii shuts her eyes and says a prayer.

Remnii says: We were too late....

Vel investigates the closest body. It seems they had been dead for about three or four days.

Velameestra Windrunner says: They have been dead for less than a week, but it’s been a few days… even if we had come here as soon as we arrived, we wouldn’t have saved them.
Remnii says: I know… if we are not running out of here, I would like to bury them.
Maraad says: We will make time. But… not everyone is accounted for.
Remnii says: That worries me. But if this is any indication, we are on the right path.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Weapons out. If that creature is still here, it may be lurking.

The bite marks were not present on the priestess, but they don’t seem to be all the same size.

Velameestra Windrunner says: We should keep moving.
Remnii says: I agree.

They travel for a bit longer, passing by the rest of the bodies, and they enter a large atrium that’s even more crooked. There is a spiraling ramp, and a large pink crystal that goes down into a large chamber. There are no natural lights, but the crystals offer some amount of illumination.

As they look down and around, they see another figure. This one is not slumped, and seems to be pacing back and forth along a crystalline platform beneath the massive crystal that is jutting from the ceiling. They are wearing a long coat, and they appear to be a male human with middle-length dark brown hair. He is unarmed, pacing, and looking about.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Hey… Uther, do you know him?
Uther Menethil says: I can’t rightly say that I do-- oh, I get it.

The man stops pacing, and then turns and looks up at the group.

Aramar Thorne says: No… but I think I might.
Uther Menethil says: Oh?

The man smiles.

Human Man says: I was wondering if you lot would show up. You got here a lot faster than she was expecting, that’s for sure. Though I’m afraid you’re too late if you’re looking to find her.

The man holds his hand up and beckons for the group to come down.

Human Man says: I prefer not to shout.

He looks very similar to the man named Malus that Aramar had sketched, and Aramar’s hand tightens on the hilt of his sword.

Uther Menethil says: Can we trust this offer?
Aramar Thorne says: Your guess is as good as mine. I didn’t even know he existed until a month ago.

Vel brings up the rear as the group starts to head down and she notes a flicker in the man’s form.

Velameestra Windrunner says: ...He’s not even here.
Uther Menethil says: He’s not even… you’re not even here and you don’t want to shout?
Malus says: I don’t want to be rude.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Isn’t this just a ploy to buy time?

Malus grins.

Malus says: And if it is, what would you do about it, boy?
Uther Menethil says: Ignore you and continue on an investigation of this place.
Malus says: You’re welcome to do what you wish, lad, but I think we can come to an arrangement. One that benefits both of us, more than you could accomplish on your own. But you’re right, I am just trying to buy time. A man can do two things at once, can’t he? So what will it be? Parley?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Can we even trust him to parley?
Velameestra Windrunner says: He’s not not going to be able to do anything to us. This is likely a project image spell. He can see us and respond to us, but he could be miles away.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: We can’t even trust what he has to say.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Well we have two options. Either we humor him, or we keep moving. Aramar, what do you want to do?

Aramar’s hand grips on his blade.

Aramar Thorne says: I wouldn’t mind running him through, but that doesn’t seem like it’s possible.
Makasa Flintwill says: Anything he has to say is probably poison. Take his words with a grain of salt, and trust him as far as Remnii could throw him.
Medivh says: I’ll take a look around to see if I can find any other evidence of what’s going on here.

He takes his raven form and takes off into one of the halls. The group had arrived at the end of the ramp. Malus looks Aramar up and down.

Malus says: It’s good to finally meet ya, lad. To be sure, I didn’t know you existed until recently either. Ya look every bit like Greydon, you do.

Makasa spits on the ground.

Makasa Flintwill says: You will not say his name.

Malus clicks his tongue.

Malus says: That’s no way to behave during a parley, lass. Ya should know better than that.

He looks over the rest of the group.

Malus says: Ya got my curiosity. What led all of ya here? Lookin’ for the salvage team I wager?
Remnii says: One part of many.
Malus says: Well they ain’t here anymore. I’m sure ya saw that on the way in.
Maraad says: Where are the others? There are a few that are unaccounted for.

Malus smiles.

Malus says: Wouldn’t ya like to know, big man? But they’re long gone. Far out of your reach, for the time being. But that leads me to the arrangement I were talkin’ about.

His eyes flicker back to Aramar.

Malus says: Ya got somethin’ I want. Ya hand it over, and we’ll come to an agreement. Ya see, I got my own goals, far different from the one you pursue. I don’t care what happens to her or her little science experiments. Ya give me the diamond blade, and I’ll tell ya how to bring an end to all this.
Uther Menethil says: Science experiments?
Velameestra Windrunner says: I think he’s talking about the eredar.
Remnii says: He is.
Aramar Thorne says: And how the hell am I supposed to give you this thing? You aren’t even here.

Malus smirks.

Malus says: I’ll show you how to get to me. But you’ll be doin’ it alone. The rest of your little friends can stay here. Ya can hand it over yourself, then go back to whatever mundane life Greydon set you up on.
Makasa Flintwill says: As if we could trust you to ensure he gets back safely.
Malus says: I don’t think that’s for you to decide, lass. That’s for him to decide. He never asked for any of this. The blade. You as a babysitter. To put his family in danger. Ya got a lot of brothers and sisters across the pond, Aramar. It would be a shame to get them involved.
Aramar Thorne says: You leave them out of this!
Malus says: I will. Hand over the blade, and all this can come to an end.

Aramar grits his teeth.

Malus says: Should I take that as a no, then?
Aramar Thorne says: Tch. You think just because I didn’t ask for any of this, I would just hand this over after the shit you’ve done? After the people who died because of you? Look. My father is a bastard. I’ll be the first fucking person to admit it. But you? Hah. From what I can tell you make him look like a fucking saint.

Aramar holds the diamond blade out.

Aramar Thorne says: You want this so bad? Then come and fucking take it for yourself!

He activates the blade and flips off the projection of Malus. His shouts echo through the Exodar, and there is a sound that answers back--a howling, screaming, agonized cry that is joined by several others. Malus looks up.

Malus says: Didn’t I say I didn’t want to raise my voice, lad?

He shakes his head and clicks his tongue again.

Malus says: By now, the rest of them have probably finished with the devices. There won’t be anythin’ left of you or any of this. I’ll have the diamond blade at the end of this, even if I have to pluck it from your ashes boy. You won’t see your father again, boy. Not in this world, and not in the next.
Uther Menethil says: He said devices…

The group starts to hear the plinking of liquid falling and impacting on the ground nearby. They look up and see eyes glowering down from up above, and there is another howling, screeching, agonized scream. There is the rattling of chains, and several creatures leap down--and Vel hears the incantations of a [Feather Fall] spell.

Vel hurriedly casts [Sending] to Medivh.

Velameestra Windrunner says [sending]: They set up some sort of devices. I sounds like they’re going to blow it up. It may be wise to get back, or get out.
Medivh says [sending]: I heard everything. I’ll see what I can do.

There is an ogre with two heads, and a shivarra--each of her six arms holding a chain which she relinquishes. There are large hound-like monsters with them, which have distended claws that scrape into the ground--one large maw making up the lower central part of them, but in a pillar of flesh above it is a misshapen creature with several different faces. They all look like draenei and night elf faces, which include some orcs and furbolgs as well.

The monsters immediately leap at the group in a fury.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Let them come to us. I have an idea.

Makasa nods and gets into a defensive position in front of Aramar. Seria fires off a [Wrath] at the ogre magi and shatters one of his mirror images. Tol’vas casts [Gravity Sinkhole] over the shivarra and her ur’zuls. The sink hole brings them all together and sends them spilling onto the ground, crushing one of the ur’zuls. However, the one that managed to avoid the brunt of the attack rushes for the group, and Makasa swings at it. Her strike glances off its gnarled flesh as it yowls. Maraad runs for the ur’zul that had closed, and strikes his hammer into the creature--bringing it low.

Cold energy starts to crackle in Vel’s hands.

Velameestra Windrunner says: In the wake of winter… all shall FREEZE!

She casts [Freezing Sphere], her voice reverbing with power, and the ogre magi tries to [Counterspell] it, but the orb bursts through the abjuring magics and explodes in a wake of bright, roiling, freezing magic that coats the far side of the room with frost--blasting all the enemies.

Shattered Hand Ogre Blood-Magi says [orcish]: What!?

The frost had pierced right through his molten armor, and Vel then activates her bladesong.

Uther Menethil says: That… was summarily impressive, Vel. Are we good to go in?

Vel smirks.

Velameestra Windrunner says: By all means.
Uther Menethil says: Would you care to come with me--

Vel starts to nod but Remnii speaks up.

Remnii says: Wait! Uther, let me go with you!
Uther Menethil says: ...Are you sure?

Vel also looks confused at the outburst from Remnii, but Uther nods and casts [Thunder Step], taking Remnii instead. They appear right next to the shivarra, and Uther swings into her with a bright flash of holy light from his hammer.

One of the wounded ur’zuls run for Vel while another bites Uther--acid piercing through his armor. Another ur’zul bites at Remnii, but she is able to duck out of the way. She grits her teeth and casts [Psychic Crush], twin spelling it to affect both the shivarra and the ogre blood-magi.

She had started to cry at some point and she screeches out.

Remnii says: HOW DARE YOU!

Her eyes are dark, both hands out, and smoky tethers waft around Remnii’s head--her rune purple and dark. She pulls her fists closed, and there’s a snapping sound, her tears going dark as they become smoky.

Remnii says: When will enough be enough!?

The shivarra drops to the ground, dead, as the ogre mage staggers around. Remnii drops to the ground and starts to cry more fervently. Another ur’zul leaps on Uther while Aramar helps flank the ur’zul that had closed on Vel.

Aramar Thorne says: Don’t worry Makasa, we’ll handle this one! Maraad, Vel, with me!

The Shattered Hand ogre blood-magi staggers around, and the ur’zul that had attacked Vel strikes at her, but she deflects it aside. She then drives her blade into the ur’zul with a [Heart Strike], opening a massive, bleeding wound in its side with two deft slashes.

Aramar Thorne says: Do you think you guys can handle this one?
Velameestra Windrunner says: It’s almost done.

Aramar nods and backs away from the ur’zul, blocking a strike from its claw as he runs to back up Remnii and Uther. He then uses [Aetherslip] and runs to help flank the rest of the enemies--driving the diamond blade into the body of the ur’zul which then falls dead.

Tol’vas casts another [Gravity Sinkhole], killing another ur’zul as a second one is pulled away from Uther. However, it runs back at Remnii, its claws narrowly missing her. The ogre blood-magi remains stunned by Remnii’s spell, and Seria casts [Moonfire] on him. She then casts [Wrath] on the ur’zul engaged with Vel.

Makasa backs away from the closest ur’zul, and steels herself against the fear. Meanwhile, an ur’zul bites at Remnii, gnawing on her arm. The acid burns through her flesh, and her energy is sapped away.

Maraad says: Remnii!

Maraad ignores the injured ur’zul next to Vel and charges for one of the ur’zul’s next to Remnii, smashing his hammer into it with a flash of holy light. The ur’zul crumples.

Maraad says: Are you alright, Remnii?
Remnii says: I will be… thank you Uther. Maraad. Both.

She sniffles and gets to her feet as she looks at the still-stunned ogre. She casts mind sliver which drops the ogre to the ground, dead. Uther strikes into the remaining ur’zul next to him, destroying it in a smite of holy light. He starts to run for the last ur’zul next to Vel, but it slumps down from the bleeding wound Vel had inflected--dead.

Medivh flutters back down as Vel prepares to harvest some of the creature’s venom.

Medivh says: Well. I believe we have a bit of a situation.

There is an imp in his clutches that is quite dead. He throws it on the ground.

Medivh says: I was able to extract a bit of information. There is a number of devices scattered around the Exodar. There is a great deal of magical fire power involved. We need to get out of here quickly, or we need to diffuse them.
Maraad says: What happens when the explosions go off?
Uther Menethil says: It doesn’t matter, we’re not going to let that happen. Where are these explosives?
Medivh says: I’m not exactly sure. We’re going to have to move quickly. They are magical in nature, we have to make do with what we got.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Tol’vas, if you can extra some of these creatures’ venom, I can run an analysis on it later. I’ll work on trying to find some of these bombs.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Alright. I’ll see if I can help with that.

He casts [Conjure Woodland Beings], calling for aid, and a magical flickers of energy materializes, forming into small fox-like creatures with wispy, blue-green fur. They are blink foxes, and they shoot off--looking for any signs of these explosives.

Vel does a quick survey, looking for any core structural integrities that bombs may be planted on. Medivh helps her, and they quickly wager that there would have to be at least several devices if they were going to bring the entire thing down--however they would have to be spread out and there wouldn’t be more than two in a given area. She also conjures Arkha’din so he could help her sense magic in the area.

Remnii tries a divine intervention, and she senses they are with her, but they don’t know how to disarm these contraptions.

Aramar Thorne says: Where do you want us?
Velameestra Windrunner says: There are likely a minimum of two devices in each of the rooms. If you can find any of the ones higher up, it will be helpful.

Aramar and Makasa nod and run off to the Vault of Lights to try and isolate any of the explosives. Uther, meanwhile, looks toward the Crystal Hall.

Uther Menethil says: If I find anything, I’ll screech.

He uses [Polymorph] to turn himself into a giant eagle and flies off. The hall looks partially renovated, but it had seen better days. Tol’vas tries to harvest some of the venom from one of the ur’zuls. However, it’s complicated.

Maraad heads off after Uther to help him search, and Seria opts to head down to the Traders’ Tier. Medivh, meanwhile, flies off after Aramar and Makasa.

A blink fox starts to look around the Seat of the Naaru and starts to lead Remnii towards an area. She looks around, and there is a rumbling that shifts things around underneath her. However, she keeps her footing. Vel also scopes around, running up and down the walls--all the structural weaknesses don’t seem to have any tampering. There are no explosives in the Seat of the Naaru.

Velameestra Windrunner says: There are none here.

Tol’vas moves over to a different ur’zul corpse and manages to successfully harvest the acid from the fiend---though his hand was burned.

Uther sees a few things that suggest the crystal hall had people moving around it. There are several things knocked over. He has confirmation there is an explosive in the Crystal Hall, but he isn’t sure how many. He screeches that he found something.

Vel then gets a [Sending] from Aramar.

Aramar Thorne says [sending]: Vel, I think we might be onto something over here.
Velameestra Windrunner says [sending]: So is Uther. If Medivh can help you on that one, I’ll go help Uther.

Seria casts [Find Traps] in the Traders’ Tier, and she identifies the location of one charge. Maraad continues to help Uther looking around. They are pretty sure there is something else.

Medivh starts to look around for one of the charges and Vel sees a flash of light as well as a shifting and rumble coming from the Vault of Lights.

Vel casts [Dimension Door] and takes Remnii with her to start to look for one of the charges in the Crystal Hall. One of the foxes also sniffs around after coming out from under Remnii’s skirt, and the small fox leads Vel to some wreckage. Vel pulls the rubble away and sees a fel device that is pulsing with fel magic--it almost looks like a glyph of warding on some sort of spike.

Seria manages to find a series of rudimentary blades attached to a curtain that would fall down on the entire area if the curtain was pulled aside. Seria is able to dodge around the trap and finds the same sort of device.

Remnii uses [Locate Object] and gets a read on the other side of a wall.

Remnii says: I think there’s one beyond here.
Maraad says: This seems to be loose.

He pushes some wreckage around and reveals a stream on the other side of a breach. There is another of the charges, and there is a surge of fel fire that rushes into the room--the movement triggering a [Glyph of Warding]. However, they are fairly confident there are no other charges in the Crystal Hall.

Vel takes a look at the device, and it appears to be a combination of area corruptor and a sophisticated conversion of a spell scroll and glyph of warding. It seems like it replaces the caster--and the glyph itself is a very powerful [Pyroblast] spell.

Vel calls out to Remnii and relays what she uncovered so she can disseminate the information.

Maraad says: Would would you have us do, Vel?
Velameestra Windrunner says: If you can also get that info to the others, I’ll work on these ones. We need to move quickly.
Maraad says: Understood!

Makasa finds the rough area of another explosive.

Seria tries to dispel the glyph on the bomb that she had found and she needs to push her magic further. She puts more magic into the spell, and then she breaks through--leaving the glyph inert. She sighs in relief.

Uther picks up Remnii and takes off to the Vault of Lights, where Remnii is able to find both explosives with her locate object spell. Medivh leans in close to one of the charges, and a dark cloaked eredar emerges from the shadows with a dagger--however, Aramar promptly kills it before it can harm him.

Vel works on trying to disarm the first trap she had found, but as she interfaces with her magic it starts to spark and burrow in deeper.

Velameestra Windrunner says: ...shit.

Seria looks around the Traders’ Tier with more [Find Traps] spells, and she finds no more of them.

Tol’vas shifts into an eagle and flies up to the Crystal Hall. Vel sees him as he transforms back.

Velameestra Windrunner says: There’s another one beyond the wall. If you can dispel it, that would be helpful.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Where is beyond the wall?

Vel points and Tol’vas sees the big hole that Maraad had made.

Uther does a quick sweep with Remnii in the Traders’ Tier and they also identify there are no other traps. Uther swoops through the Exodar as Remnii passes the information along, and then he lands at the charge near Makasa--transforming back into his human form.

Medivh slaps his hands together. He looks at Aramar.

Medivh says: Thank you, my good man! And now for this!

He casts [Dispel Magic] and successfully dispels the charge. He then transforms back into a raven and flies over to Uther and lands on his shoulder.

Medivh says: What’s the situation here?
Remnii says: There are two more up north, and there’s this one.
Medivh says: Do you think you can handle this one, my friend?
Uther Menethil says: Absolutely, yes.

Maraad squints and suddenly runs toward the device and brings his hammer down, cleaving an invisible imp aside that had tried to tamper with it. Uther focuses and uses [Dispel Magic], managing to blast the glyph and fizzle it out.

Tol’vas also casts [Dispel Magic] and he also pushes his magic forward, breaking through the enchantment and fizzling it out. The charge next to Vel swirls faster and faster, and she interfaces with it and struggles with it, but then her tattoos flare with energy and she shuts it down. The spike jettisons out of the ground and impales itself in the ceiling. Vel tenses for a moment, and then sits back in relief.

Everything is still, and they pray they didn’t miss one, but nothing goes off.
